Methodology
You've now come to the close of your cybernetic journey and the singularity is upon you. Artificial intelligence has approached the asymptote of human mental capability. The final face-off is now, versus the Sentient Circuit, the AI commander seeking the end of human creativity and intelligence. This theme uses traditional orchestral instruments contrasted with electronic instruments and sound effects to represent the showdown between humanity and AI. While the strings initiate the melody, the chiptune pulse wave takes it over and changes it, making you question where the melody actually originated from, the human or the computer? Please enjoy this fun battle theme - it was a lot of fun to make!

Disclosure: No AI was used in the creation of this project.

Love the energy of this tune! Amazing interplay between the strings lead and the synth lead. It’s always an pleasure to hear a Blue Lava original!

YOWZERS! As usual, you start off immediately. The main instrument sometimes somehow reminds me of Undertale, not sure why or what. The baseline at the start also reminds me of one of your older songs (after long searching, it proved to be Boneyard Bash, the second entry of yours I have heard, right after Sunset Sands!) As always, you have good-quality sounds, a sick melody line, and plenty of variations to go along with it. It is funny to see you use electronic instruments, as I am not used to hearing that from you (except maybe for ’The Malmechanics of Big Ben’ and maybe ‘Anubis Desert Inferno’?).

Glad to see you’re back, I always enjoy listening to your and Selkione’s banger entries - whether to learn from or just listen to in my free time. :)

Oh, and on a separate note… I may have downloaded all your Melodic Autumn, Spring, Winter, Lux and Nox music; they are really good (though Winter I have yet to listen to)! I especially love the Autumn ones - Cozy Fall Shop is just amazing and Scarlet Woods even has a 4/4 - 3/4 change! And Lost Nomad has been an inspiration for me trying to make Arabic music. And I recognized some of your entries to music jams in there under different names (Sunset Sands, Fossilized Relics, Anubis Battle…) - some even have slight variations in the song.

…God, I am starting to sound like a fan…

This is such a thoughtful comment and I am extremely appreciative! You seem to know my style a little better than I do, with the connections you’ve made to my previous compositions. :) I really appreciate hearing all your thoughts, as always. And thank you also for your support with listening to the songs outside of jams as well. Those bigger projects are fun to make and are a fun way for me to give back to the gamedev community. I am glad that some of them have provided inspiration to you and I sure look forward to hearing more of what you come up with! Thanks again and I’ll be looking forward to the next one!

I was hooked as soon as the song started, and I was jamming all the way through! The dueling instruments/sound design is perfect for the concept of a boss fight against a final AI boss. I like the addition of the drum roll snare during the beat breakdown at 0:45 and when the beat comes back its all chiptune and synth drums. It feels like a tough, back and forth battle but in that particular section the AI has the edge. The melody is so bouncy and fun. The bass drowns out the kick in a few places, but if you bring that kick forward in the mix or use some sidechain compression on the bass, that extra punch will accentuate the bounciness that the entire composition has. Great work! It was a joy to listen to!

Thank you so much for listening and for your kind and thoughtful comment! I also really appreciate the constructive criticism as well and I totally agree - I am still learning mixing and I noticed how the low end got muddy in some places. I also really appreciate that you included ideas for solutions with the areas for improvement; this is high quality feedback. Thank you!

The interplay between the traditional instruments and the digital ones make for a very exciting composition.

WOW that was excellent! My personal preference for these music jams are the songs that feel like songs first and the theme second because I love listening to good music. Having a good catchy song is more important to me because then it is more memorable in my mind.

You accomplished that excellently and used the theme very well too! Great job on this!

Thank you so much for listening and for your comment - it means so much to me! My preference is also to write music that is fun to listen to! One thing I like to do to try and make catchy songs is to create the melody in my head and then sing it out loud and tweak it until I can’t get it out of my head. Thank you again!

Thsi is so catchy and fun! The multiple layers and the choice of a "battle" betwen traditional instruments vs digital one made this one a absolute banger !

I appreciate you listening and for the comment. I’m glad my choices paid off!

Love the use of contrasting instrumentation! Such a fun track to listen to with so many interweaving layers.

Thank you! I’m glad you thought the violin and chiptune worked well together!

I wasn't expecting a boss fight against the AI. The melody is great and it's so punchy!

Great idea to have human (orchestral) instruments responding to the electronic sounds.

That drop at 2'05" is brilliant! With a little delay before starting again with military snares accompanied by a melody that sounds like a Bach fugue. What maestria!

Quality BlueLava, as usual!

Thank you so much for listening and commenting! The boss fight seemed like a natural idea to me and maybe I thought others would have tried it out as well, but I’m glad it is something that set mine apart a little. Thank you for the spots and aspects you highlighted - they are some of my favorites as well!

That was very cool! Sounds like 2d side-scrolling action! The mix between strings and chiptune is seamless and the melodies you have going throughout the song are strong and keep the song driving forward. It's really impressive how much mileage you got from the string and synth melodies playing off of each other!

Good job! This song is really fun to listen to!

Thank you so much! This is my first real attempt using chiptune sounds so I’m glad it worked well with the strings. Thank you so much for listening and commenting!
