Methodology
OK so in all honesty I have been making a short little jingle to represent every single FNAF animatronic and releasing them day by day.
From the start I knew that Mr. Hippo's "short" jingle was gonna be a full length song as a joke to reference his insanely long death monologues in ultimate custom night.

When I was making it, I wanted it to feel like a calm memory that's full of emotion and wonder. When I thought of that, I realized it aligned perfectly with the theme of the jam so I built the song off of that.

basically, the gist is that even though the singularity has begun, the robots are basically just like normal people, capable of emotion and feeling just as any human. Taking this as the basis, I made the song super emotional to represent how the robots can now feel the full range of emotions that humans can.

The robots are chill and we are chill with them. very happy and relaxing vibes in general.

As for my composition strategies, there is heavy reverb on basically everything since it is supposed to be emotional.

The trumpet is muted and a tad wavering to represent the robots quivering lip as if it is about to cry from happy memories.

The double bass makes the whole song more emotional.

there is gospel choir to represent how the robots have basically achieved humanity and what is more human than religion.

and finally, the banjo like instrument is actually there for 2 reasons. I think a banjo is a great instrument to represent joy in humans just because of how jovial of an instrument it is. I also want this to represent Mr. Hippo from FNAF and all of the mediocre melody animatronics have that specific instrument so I wanted a link between them since this song is drastically different than the rest of the jingles I made.

Also, Usually I would have this be a youtube video with some nice visuals to go along with it, but since I am also using this as Mr. hippo's jingle and I am releasing those day by day, I can't upload the video yet.
you are all getting an early listen to this song so lucky you!

Hope you like it!

I like your positive interpretation of the prompt! It made for quite a beautiful tune. I didn’t play much FNAF, but I thoroughly enjoyed the piece. Thanks for joining the tunejam!

I'm honored to be lucky enough to get an early listen, lol! I really like the instrument choices in the orchestration, they blended together well and had a nice sound. The trumpet melody was very pretty. I'm going to piggy back off of what Selkione said about the harpsichord and suggest another possible solution: The harpsichord and the octave up trumpet in the end are somewhat similar bright sounds that are competing in the same frequency range, so the harpsichord gets masked in the mix a bit. If you changed the harpsichord to a different instrument that has a different sound, my suggestion would be a xylophone, it will stand out more and won't get masked.
Great work!

You went for a more positive vibe, which surprises me, as the Technological Singularity is usually associated with human demise. It does make you stand out from the rest. I hear normal instruments like a piano, but also more metallic electronic instruments, signifying the combination of humans with AI. This song, to me, sounds like a truce after a war; finally, a moment of rest. I dig it! :D

The main reason I did the positive vibe was because in the description of the jam, it says that it is defined as when AI advances so fast it becomes more intelligent than humans, and what is more intelligent than than emotions like empathy. So that's why I went with an overly emotional piece.

That makes total sense. Often singularities are set into a negative light, but there can also be positive effects to this. I have heard other entries that also went a positive vibe; I dig it :)

The melody is gorgeous.

Thank you so much! I was really proud of the second trumpet during the last verse.

The melody is very pretty and it's clearly the opposite view from what we've come to expect from this theme. It's bold and it pays off.

Now let's talk technique and improvement :)

Around 1'00" you introduce an electric piano/harpsichord (?). From the start, it seemed to me too mono and too centered (and this is confirmed when at the end it is played with the trumpets). To improve the mix and gain in clarity, you can double your instrument (keep this one and take a very similar one, or have two of the same one at the octave), one well to the left and one well to the right.

What do you think, my friend?

Developer

yeah I definitely think I could improve the mixing.
I made this song before I made the song for the RMCC 10 which is where I really tried to improve my mixing.

Trying to get a full sound is something that I really want to improve at so thank you for your feedback!

This is the exact opposite direction than where I took the theme, but I’m glad there is an optimism to yours - because like you said, AI is now and we had better get used to it! Love the emotional choral vibes throughout. The muted trumpet melody is heart-wrenching! I do like the addition of the banjo because it adds a little bit of a metallic twang that seems to be reminiscent of the robotic roots prior to the singularity. Overall this was a very enjoyable listen and a nice reprieve after so many upbeat tunes. Great work and thank you for sharing!

Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you thought the trumpet was emotional because that is exactly what I wanted.
