Fun little story.

I would have appreciated more decisions to make. Although to be fair, I only made the first one because I found the text way too slow. So after I died and the boss went on holiday I stopped playing. Maybe it got more involved after that? But it felt like it was winding down.

I'd like to see the next iteration of the game though.

Very nice design and presentation. And what a theme and implementation of it! Great job on this!

The aesthetic and the font compliment each other quite well, and I actually laughed once or twice because of the writing! The images are pretty low-resolution (16x16 pixels, I'm guessing?), but that could just be a design choice. Doubling it to 32x32 might give you a bit more room to work with.

I have to say, I thought the text was painfully slow. I don't mind visual novels/text adventures with few choices, but unless it's an intentional design decision, having such slow text with no way of speeding it up feels bad. A few easy ways to do this would be to have a slider on the side to adjust the speed, clicking to show all the text at once (with a brief second or two pause so the player can read it), or having the player select a speed before the game starts. But I've made a game with the same text typing style, so I remember hitting all these same pain points myself. 🙂 Some background audio would enhance the whole experience, too.

Great entry!
