I liked the game. Nice idea. Well put together. I agree with someone below, that the time between wake ups could've been longer. I was never tempted to try and push my luck and take too many desks because the time was too short.

Nice game though. Well done.

This was really neat! It's great to see that you managed to squeeze a tutorial into this short time-frame!

A stealth game in 3 hours, nice!

I like that if I go past a chair, and sit down, when I get up again, I'm back in the same spot. Not sure if that was an intentional feature, but it's nice, versus if you were always put at the back of the chair when you get up

Every game jam it seems I accidentally choose a genre I've never worked on before, and this time it was stealth 😂 Yes, I'm happy to say that was intentional! I'm still pretty new to working on "game feel", but I've been trying extra hard my last few game jams to think of little features like that to make the experience more fun. Thanks for your feedback!

Me too, let's keep at it!

Very cool concept! Even though it is very simple, I got very tense playing it, almost as much as when I'm playing survival horrors, hahaha
It's pretty amazing that you've managed to sneak in an interactive tutorial considering the jam's very restrict time limit too!

I'm glad somebody noticed the interactive tutorial because I'm very proud of that 😄 The last few game jams, I've been working on a technique so that I can create these kinds of tutorials without even changing how the game object functions, so I can just drop it in the tutorial scene and it works. This is the first time I've gotten to put it into practice, and I'm very pleased with how it turned out! Thanks for your feedback - I'm happy you enjoyed it!

I like the concepts.

These are my ideas that might have improved

  • Needs a little longer between the alert and the teacher waking up
  • Other students could have occupied some of the desks

Good submission, well-presented.

I definitely ran out of time, because game balance and other obstacles such as students in some of the desks or walking around had to get cut. Not sure what happened, because I thought my complete concept was doable in the timeframe. Thanks for playing!

I wrote a longer comment on the game's page itself, so please consult that for a more detailed recount of my positive experience. Loved it! Gladdened and relieved to see another detention-themed entry. This is a thrilling experience with cleverly designed levels. That sound effect is terrifying, lmao.

EDIT: Now that rating time has come, I will add that the jump from realistic 3D to pixel art 2D is a tad jarring. For future reference, I recommend getting a Pinterest account and searching for things you find aesthetically appealing, figuring out what kind of style you like, and seeking to build your next project around some cohesive theme. Make a consistent statement with your visuals! (This is something I need to improve upon as well.) But again, none of this takes away from your excellent gameplay and level design.

Replied on the jam page 🙂

Though you make an excellent point! I usually run out of time for art for the menus and such, but seeing if I could find a tileset and/or pixel art stock image would help make the visuals more consistent. I could always feel that weird inconsistency but couldn't put my finger on it. Thanks for the suggestion!
