I definitely think that the game’s visuals and audio are a strong suit of the game, both were very cool! I think adding a win/goal and lose condition of some sort would help further improve the gameplay.
Good job!
Beautiful!
fever dream simulator. the cursor is BEAUTIFUL. i dont know if the bad guys actually kill you or what but theyre still fun to shoot nonetheless.
This game was a treat for both my eyes and my ears! The shader work was really cool, and the gameplay was weirdly serene amidst all the chaos that was happening in the background. Wonderful production values, please do more :D
(P.S.: How'd you get the mouse cursor to look like that in Godot? Did you just change it in the project settings?)
Thanks for playing! I took a deep dive into experimenting with shaders so I'm glad you enjoyed the results! I kind of lost sight of the 3-hour time limit and just wanted to explore it as much as I could since I was feeling inspired the 2nd day.
For the custom cursor —I'm not sure if it's a new feature for 4.1, but for me it is found in Project Settings > Display > Mouse Cursor. You can even change it during runtime with this:
By using a lot of shaders, I suspect you mean that there's really only one background that gets tweaked and warped by lots of shaders. Makes for a really eerie dream feel. Could be interesting to try making a game with this style of world, although probably less insistent enemies.
You are correct! the background is a large panning image but the warping effect kind of hides the fact that it's panning and has repeating edges. I'm definitely going to try expanding this world and create some variety of enemy types! Thanks for checking out the demo
This game could be spectacular when ingesting certain types of mushrooms, very trippy.
Great submission
Players may choose any snacks they wish haha! 😅
Thanks for playing!
