This is a simple mechanic yet interesting execution. I was planning to suggest adding an indicator on how far we walk already somewhere on the screen, but then I think that would decrease the unknown-atmosphere factor so I don't really sure if I want to suggest that. XD

I streamed the game here around minute 87 if anyone wants to watch:

Nice job on the game!

close your eyes as a game mechanic. uh oh. i'm in hot water now

the vibes are great though and its hilarious that an owl is on the same level of threat as oni and instant kill you goast

score: 546 (its kinda hard!)

What a fun concept and a great use of theme!

It does feel like a midnight stroll with the limited POV range and the complete darkness. The feeling you were aiming for is captured pretty well. The mechanics are also pretty simple to pick up on, but hard to master, especially when it starts to get more difficult. Sometimes a bugged ghoulie will show up while I'm working on another one and it erases progress, but it's a known issue so I won't knock it too much.

I'll agree with some of the other commenters that perhaps the ghouls and goblins are a little too colorful and/or flat considering the atmosphere, but it's a three-day project, so I am not expecting perfection. Be proud of coming up with a very good idea that is executed precisely.

I really appreciate that you didn't put any actual jumpscares for shock value.

The game is surprisingly challenging and nervewracking despite the simple mechanics. Good job!

The last one got me...  I found the game to be challenging but fair and very enjoyable overall. You did a very good job teaching the mechanics and adding readable sound cues. The only thing that could use some work are the graphics. Good game!

Pretty fun! I think the enemies are too colourful for the game, and the environment is quite flat, but it's still a very good game for the spook vibes.

Absolutely well executed idea, from start to finish.

A good concept, and I appreciate that the mechanics are introduced one at a time (I managed to screw up on the very first oni).

I think there's a lot of potential for this to be made into a genuine horror game with the right assets and design!

It's a fun game! At first I thought it would be scary, but it wasn't that scary!

The atmosphere was terrifying, even how they show up suddenly on the screen altogether with the sound effects. However, there are times wherein the user won't be certain which one appears as there are cases like you kept your eyes closed because you encountered a ghost and after passing by there's an immediately spawned one.

Overall, it is simple yet have executed greatly its gameplay and atmosphere of spookiness!

I like the concept, but the bug of the Goblin and Ghost spawning at the same time is pretty big. Cool atmosphere though: you managed to make something that wouldn't really feel scary feel pretty offputting.
