The game was a lot of fun to play through! Peggle already seems like a good formula, although the spell cards made for a very natural gimmick to the levels. Well done!

I can tell a lot of work went into making the game engine rock solid. The animations, the sound effects, the spell cards all flow perfectly. The banter added a lot of humor between the stages too. Even game over sketches deliver a chuckle as a consolation for failing . The story only touched on the theme, but from reading the other comments it sounds like this game is getting scaled up for a bigger release. And that is great to hear, I am eager for more orb bouncing.

Solid twist on an already great game and some fun banter, what's not to like?

one of the best games from this jam, maybe in the top ten touhou jam games in general. plz make like a long version of this I love the banter between yuuka and wriggle and everyone and the art is adorable and the gameplay is so relaxing and FUN! weeeeee!

I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it so much! We already have plans to make a fully-fleshed out version of the game with many more characters and mechanics to release further in the future :)

Yuuka and Wriggle, partners in crime. The art is really cute and the gameplay is very polished. The setup and the levels fit the characters perfectly.

Each level took me a few attempts while I learned how to play, but at first I didn't get what the win condition was (getting the vibe meter to the max). Fortunately it is very forgiving as you can just try again. I'm sorry Yuuka for failing you 6+ times.

The game has a lot of potential, I'd love to see more levels.

Haven't played Peggle, but I had a lot of fun. I really liked the crayon drawings and the Spell Card twists. Also, Infinite Nightmare was an inspired song choice for Aya.

Be nicer to Wriggle :(

Don't worry, Yuuka is very, very kind to her off-screen! :)

The web version had no sounds so I had to download it but I love this game. The art style of the intro is extremely cute and all the patterns and effects of the main game were pretty and, even though i lost multiple times in stages 2 and 3, I still had lots of fun seeing the orb bounce around.

Developer

Yeah the webGL version has been being funky and been working properly for some people and not other, but I'm glad the backup download worked! We're super happy you liked it and thanks for playing!

As a huge fan of peggle (and sad there hasn't been a new one in a long while) this was incredible!
You nailed basically everything here, it feels really nice to play, has just the right amount of content for a jam game, and overall is just a lovely, complete experience that is also super replayable even if you've already beaten the different levels.

Admittedly I feel as if the theme was a bit too loosely used here, only having relevance as a part of the story and not really affecting the gameplay much which is what I tend to value most in jams, interesting gameplay based around the themes. It also felt a bit less like a puzzle game and more like a strategy game.

Nevertheless, that can be easily looked past simply due to the quality of the experience. It's truly a wonderful jam entry and I'm definitely excited to see if you do more with it post-jam since there really are not enough games of this style.

You caught us a little bit, we've been wanting to make a touhou style peggle game for a while and we kind of used this jam as an excuse to actually hunker down and get started on it! The theme sort of took a back seat to that and I'll definitely own up to that, but the ultimate goal is to continue this and flesh it out far beyond this jam one day. Thanks for Playing!

Never really played games like Peggle, so the gameplay is new to me. I really liked Kanako's theme in this!
