This game a wonder! The funky, heartfelt art makes it distinct from every other game in the universe and the game play and the sound design complement the art perfectly. Since I am bad at playing games, I appreciate that yours does not penalize ludicrously janky pipe systems that wouldn't hold water in real life. My only suggestion for improvement would be to replace the 'x marks the spot' cursor with some other icon because 'x' makes me think I'm doing something wrong.

Really lovely graphics! I included it in my Time Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Developer

I loved watching you play all the game thank you for doing it ! (also really funny, in your despair to find how to connect the pipes you clicked on my secret button (left click) to show the hand that i deleted from the game but wanted to keep for myself bc i spend 4h drawing it x))

Fun game. Though the collectibles weren't obvious at first -  for a while I was treating them as background elements until I just happened to hit one of them with a pipe and :o something happened!

Aside from that, I enjoyed it!

This is absolutely great! The art, music, sounds and gameplay just fit together perfectly! My only tip is that if the collectibles were a little bigger would be easier to spot them, but that's a picky detail.

It's a really good game! Congrats!

Fun with great graphics but gets impossible after a while. The level design seems random.

Developer

The levels are random indeed, sorry if you got an impossible one that happens (rarely thankfully x)) Also I noticed in play testing that people sometimes don’t know that they can trace the path on the decorative pipes too, maybe that’s what you thought too ? But you can, if you have a cactus just in front of the start, you can go left instead of right, same with the end pipe !

Thank you for your comment, I hope you give it another go if needed :D

Thanks, but the way was totally blocked by cacti. To make sure there is always at least one solution you could check out the A* algorithm:

This! Is! Marthaaaaaa!

Nice high score game! Simple and efficient :) !

I would have liked Martha to come back to life a little with each watering.

It's very sad... But! The pretty colors make up for it all!

Nice job!

Developer

Thank you !! This game is inspired by my real plants always dying around me and it is indeed pretty sad x)

No for real, thank you very much for your comment, I have an idea of how that could happen, I will maybe change it after the end of the jam !

This game is super polished and fun! I love the arcade style high score taking approach that was taken. It did take me a second to figure out what I was supposed to do as, like another comment points out, the pipes and collectibles didn't stand out quite as much as I think they should have. Also, I know it's a high score game and made in limited time, but it would have been neat if Martha came to life more the more you watered her. I played a few rounds and every time she seemed like she died at the end of the time limit. On one hand, this makes sense, but I would have had a happier ending if you last longer in the game just to encourage the player to play again more. Overall, great work!

Developer

Yes about Martha dying, I had trouble finding out what could happen at the end of the time because you need a reason to try to get the longest time possible, so it couldn’t be a happy ending because otherwise why would you want to have a long time ? But like you said Martha dying everytime is not very rewarding so it is a struggle x)

Thank you very much for playing and for letting a comment !

Very addicting game!

I was like 10 minutes playing this lol.

My only problem is that important things (like the start an end pipes, and the collectibles) shoud be a bit bigger so its easier to find them with the eye.

But the art, music and general gameplay are great! Good luck!

thank you so much for playing and leaving a message ! And I agree about the sprite, maybe I’ll change it when the jam is done :D
