I really liked it. At first I thought you had to press both clics for it to spin, realised after fish started going the other way :P

With some background music and some audio cues for catching and losing fish, it would be 10 times better (and its still amazing)

Good job!

I loved the art and the dialogue! The game was simple in a good way and I enjoyed playing it. I would have loved for there to be background music and the upgrades felt a little expensive, but overall it's a great game! Well done!

Developer

I appreciate it. Yeah I didn't have a lot of time so the Shop was a last minute add. Didn't really have time to test how much time would take to buy all of them.  And yeah after the jam i will definitely be adding sounds and maybe a little radio for those who want music in the background. Thanks for the feedback :)

Well I'm glad you added the shop, it added a lot of fun to the game! The radio idea also sounds super cool!

I managed to complete my fishtiary :D

Fun little game. Not that relaxing as i would have imagined for a fishing game but it had a good core loop.

Some sound would have been cool and a bit feedback, when u catch a fish u already knew. Felt a bit, like i lost every fish until i noticed that i got money from them.

Good work :)

Developer

Haha yeah. Even when i was testing it i was doing the same to make sure i actually caught it. Glad you managed to fill all the slots. Will definitely be adding sound after the game jams ends and probably more visual and sound indicators when fish are caught or lost. I was not specifically going for relaxing (if i had the time i would have made it even less relaxing lol) but i might also add a chill mode in the future if i work on it, and definitely more fish & locations to catch those fish .  Anyway thanks for the feedback

Also if you don't mind me asking how much time did you play it for to collect complete the fishtiary? I didn't have time to test it fully so i want to know if it was too easy or hard. Thanks again

Puh i'm not completely sure about the time it took. But it was a good amount of time for a jam game imo. Not to easy and a good challenge to catch all fish.

Nice game. Could use an audio loop or even an occasional sound of splashing. Otherwise, I like the fishing mechanic idea.

Developer(+1)

Totally agree. That was the plan, sadly i didn't have enough time so my priority was focused on finishing the game so there is something to play at least. Will definitely add sound + more content after the game jam. Thanks for the feedback :)

Quite a nice game

I like the idea of the fishing mechanic and the variety of fish you can catch is nice

I just wish that there was audio in the game (unless I missed something, but I didn't hear any sounds)

Good job

Developer(+1)

No yeah , no sound. Sadly couldn't use all of my 7 days to work on it so my priority was to finish the game at least and be somewhat fun. Thanks for the feedback will definitely be adding sound after the jam. :)

Really simple and fun game.

I feel that it can be a lot better with some calm background music and bit of visual and audio feedback.

Developer

Totally agree with you. Will definitely be adding them once the game jam ends. Thanks for the feedback :)

Good start for a fishing game.

I was missing a bit of tactile feedback. Where do I need to click to fish? Do I actually have the fish inside the circle segment right now? How much longer does it need to stay there? Is it really possible to catch the fast fish?

Add some chill ocean sounds on top of that, and you’ve got yourself a cozy game.

Developer(+1)

Totally agree with you. I wanted to add everything you mentioned but sadly because of some stuff I was only able to use 2 out of the 7 days of the jam. I know visual or even audio feedback is really important in these types of games  but my priority in the limited time was to release at least something because it's better than nothing. After the jam I'll definitely add these features. Thanks for the feedback :)

Really nice, simple little game about fishing. Really love the visuals and the amount of variety in fish types you had present in the game. Also really love Mr Natafish’s writing. Does he ever return to explain further mechanics? I wasn’t able to progress very far in the game, and was unsure how to upgrade my rod as was mentioned in the description.

I wish there was more feedback to catching fish, and a bit more of an explanation as to how fishing worked. I take it the aim is to keep the fish in the gap in the circle, but there’s no sense of progress. The central circle feels like it’s time left to catch the fish? Correct me if I’m wrong on that front. I’d also love some calming ocean sounds to really hit the vibe of sitting on a small pier and catching fish.

Overall though, game is right on theme and has a strong core, especially if you can educate players about how the fishing mechanic works.

Developer

You are correct. There is a lot of stuff more i need to implement. I had those things in mind too but because of limited time on my end i wasn't able to use the full 7 days like i wanted, so just releasing the game as long as it worked and it was somewhat fun was my first priority. Audio or visual feedback is really important i agree. That was one of the things i wanted to work on after but didn't have the time. And yes Mr. Natafish was going to be more important to the story and appear more but sadly i had to cut his dialog down to just 2 appearances. Thanks on the feedback, if i work on the game after the Jam I'll definitely work on these things, especially explaining the mechanics so its easer to understand. :)

((btw the shop usually appears little bit later when you fail to catch the faster fishes))
