Such a great idea for a game. I think it is worth pursuing! I didn't finish a single level though as my actual cursor kept moving outside of the game window and made me lose. I loved feeling out the controls as I moved the cursor around though! Took a fun level of concentration and was fun to laugh at myself when I failed :P
It is trickier than it looks lol. Im glad you like the idea, I think I have solved that problem, also made some other small improvements but wouldn't be fair to update it until the jam is over. Thanks for playing!
Thanks so much, everyone, for all the amazing feedback! I’ve made some changes based on your input such as adding a trail. While I won’t be locking the pointer, I’ve adjusted the mouse sensitivity so you move further with less mouse movement, and I think it feels pretty good now. I’ll be updating the game after the jam ends, so feel free to check out the updated version and play through the first 12 levels. Really appreciate all your support!
lol the idea is really good! Its quite hard though and it took me a second to understand how the compass works. its quite fun getting used to this new change to something as engrained as coordinating your mouse. Maybe I didnt get far enough ( I think I peaked at lvl 15 or 16 ) but I think there could be some other addition besides cursor becoming bigger and wonkier.
Silly premise, great execution! I'm quite excited for when the first twelve levels get unlocked, its like reverse DLC
Starting from lvl13 sure is difficult ! I hope you can fix this soon ;)
That's a fun game anyway
Thanks for playing, I left the starting level at 13 by mistake, i was testing the later levels but forgot to reset it back to one. It is a very easy fix, just a matter of changing a value for a variable but I'll update my game when voting ends to be fair, also there are plenty of things I'd like to do later
It happens, it's just harder to start but the feeling is nice when you finaly master that damn magnet ;)
Oh cool, what do you have in mind ?
It will start much easier as the magnet swings more like a pendulum. I agree with someone who commented about it being nicer to see a trail, and have different cursors to choose from
I am no good at this game, very fun concept, unfortunate that I couldnt pass a single level. Great work though!
Sorry about that it will be much easier when I update soon and allow the first 12 levels to be played, the compass will swing back and forth which makes it easier to go in the right direction.
The idea is great for a jam. You did it well good job.
I struggled because the mouse was going out of the window and my strat was to only go up when the compas was in the right direction :)
It's a bit too hard for me tho.
Good job !
Thanks a lot for the kind words! I'm really glad you liked the idea. You're totally right about the mouse issue — I didn't anticipate how much that would impact gameplay until quite late. I’ll definitely look into fixing that for a post-jam version, maybe by locking the cursor or adding screen edge detection. Appreciate the feedback and your clever strategy with the compass! Thanks again for playing!
I thought it was a simple game, but as soon as I started playing, I realize how wrong I was the gameplay is truly engaging.
Thanks so much for playing and for the thoughtful feedback! I’m really glad you enjoyed Tipsy Cursor—especially the way the difficulty builds and how the controls mess with your coordination. It’s awesome to hear it made you laugh and focus harder, which is exactly what I was going for.
Just to clarify: it sounds like you played a version that was working as intended, starting from level 1. In my most recent update, I accidentally left the starting level at 13 while testing some extra stages—so if anyone plays now and it skips ahead, that’s why! I’ll be fixing that soon.
I absolutely love your ideas—adding a visual trail for the cursor’s path is brilliant, and I think it’ll help players get a better feel for the movement. I’ll also be working on adding stages, and different cursors. Really appreciate you sharing your thoughts—it means a lot and gives me a bunch to build on!
