The short, creepy location descriptions were my highlight of the game, I love light horror like this. Not too scary for kids, I'd say.

There are a couple of situations where there are multiple objects with the same noun. The default message of having to choose one is ok, but some games suggest the player work around the annoying extra step by designating use of the verb as the noun instead (e.g. "burned" or "torn" / "red" vs "blue" - "get red" will let you collect the orb). You can tip off the player about this with the tutorial. I'm not sure there was a final win scenario (spoilers: I placed the two orbs and entered the portal, but then I could just go back).

Sounds like you may add more later - I'd be interested in playing again after more updates.

Thanks for the review!

There is supposed to be a win state when you enter the portal, it's strange that it didn't trigger for you... I'll have another look at the code and will post a fixed version of the game when I find what's causing this.

I have got the two orbs in the attic, but nothing happens...any clue?

Developer

Did you drop them both? If so, I might have broken it while fixing other things, I'll have a look.

Developer

Added some disambiguation for the orbs, it should work now. If it still doesn't, you might have to restart the game (by typing QUIT).

Fixed!

I liked it, the puzzles are clear and all the objects are useful for something, which makes an adventure suitable for children. I hope you have time to put graphics and do a second part ... you want more after going through the portal! ;-)

I really liked this game - the puzzles were integrated really well.

Perhaps allow PLAY CONCERTO and PLAY SHEET as synonyms for PLAY MUSIC?

One typo spotted at the end - 'lanscape' should be 'landscape'.

Very nice entry!

Thanks! I've added your suggestions :)

Completed. A good, quick and easy game perfect for beginners.

Thank you for the kind words and the bug testing/suggestions! I'm not sure I'm allowed to change things during the voting phase, but I'll keep it in mind for later :)

You are allowed to change it.

Ok, thanks!

The adjectives red and blue could be added as synonyms for the orbs which would avoid disambiguation by simply typing the adjective: GET RED.

There seems to be a small glitch with entering the combination of the safe. If you don’t know that you have to enter only numbers and not letters, there is no way out (except if you type a number, but how do you know?)

What is the combination?
?xxx
?xyz
?QUIT
?EXIT
?STOP
?666
The safe stays closed …
