Simple but fun! Played a bunch of times trying to get all the green plates. Couldn’t quite get them all in one run but came very close.
Ran out of the box no issues on Ubuntu 24.04.
Thanks! 😊 hehe yes, very simple
Nice to have the "lean" on the car as it changes lanes. Amused to discover I could race back in reverse. Get some scoring and track generation and you've got yourself a stew!
Thanks for the tips! 😊 oops, that's a bug...
I'm sure you've already got it well in hand, but iff you're interested, I may have some relevant examples... My prior entry "SparXline" (https://oofoe.itch.io/sparxline?secret=YPiup5NOOtN9pAcGfL0BGs0 (I turned it off because it wasn't complete)) was doing randomly generated infinite obstacles and scoring. Also my previous "Kipple Kat" entry used a combination of designed levels, infinitely generated.
I hope you'll develop it more! I adored WipeOut...
The compiled bin ran fine on win10 without issue. I only watched playthroughs of the old KotR RPGs, and I don't remember these minigames... but this... now this is pod racing.
Really cool demo, I am in awe at anyone who gets 3d working for a jam as short as this, especially in a lisp dialect. I just wish the track wasn't so short (I went in reverse for a minute or two so I could enjoy the snappy controls for a bit longer).
Hope to see more of this if you plan on updating it.
Thank you! 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed the controls!
Oh yes, pod racing - that's the name I was looking for. (Swoop is just the name from KotOR I remembered).
I have a longer track drawn on paper, but need to add a "track editor" to move it to the computer . Otherwise, it's pretty tiresome handwiring those positions in code. I struggled with translation of mouse clicks to in-world positions, so left it out for the time being. I want to learn how to calculate that, then definitely add more tracks!
