I like this game! There is a lot of potential! Some of the beginning mechanics were unclear, and so I wasn't sure how to do certain things that were very important for the game. However, I liked the music, and the acid rain was a fun addition! It had me scrambling around for a leaf to shelter myself with.

Good work! I like how you implemented the gathering system!

A lovely game! I think the sap took a bit too long to collect after a while once the nearby stumps were used,  but it was still super fun! Loved the concept, and the assets used work well together!

for game jam, Being able to make graphics at the level of a Steam game is really impressive.

the procedural generation worked really well! the map felt different each time but also consistent and balanced :) i also liked the map elements fading when you walked behind them so you could see. the music was really cute and nostalgic too! it seems like there were a lot of times where i couldn't interact with something even though it was outlined in white, and there were a few times where the outline made it look like i was interacting with a leaf, but i got sap. not sure if these are known bugs but overall it was fun and very relaxing! the rain effect was honestly really calming & satisfying (even though it hurts you)

Yeah we know that our game is not bug free. If you’re unable to pick up leaf pads you must pick up sap first and the the leafs stop glitching (it’s obviously not desired behaviour but at least makes the game playable). Thank you for your kind words !!

The graphics (with other stuff like selected items being shown, objects fading away when the player is behind them etc.) and sound effects were great!
As for the gameplay... well, the gameplay was... confusing?
Why does the sap not seem to protect my tree from the acid rain? Why does using the sword do nothing? Why do I have a leaf bar even though I didn't put a leaf on the head? How do I refill my health? How did I lose health even though I had a leaf on my head?
I know, making an in-game tutorial during a 2-day jam may be hard (even I was not able to make one)
And growing the tree only took me around 30 seconds in total, and all I did was watering it... So... I think there should be a few other side objectives that would lenghten the game and make it way less repetitive

Hah, good point on the sword as it does exactly nothing except being a nice animation. I know that the gameplay might be confusing as we barely managed to submit on time (the 15 min bonus saved us) so there was no time for making a tutorial (i tried my best on the itch page but it was t a lot). Ill try to answer your questions tho. The leaf bar that you mentioned is actually the health of the tree and the blue bar above it is its hydration and we didnt provide any way to refill the health. The saps duration is really short so i guess it just took a few raindrops and went away. And at last the tree growing… I have absolutely no idea why. I know that this game is kinda bugged and we would definetly fix it if we had more time. Thank you for your rating !!!

I like the art style and animations. The gameplay was confusing at first so it would be nice to see a tutorial or instructions on what to do. Overall, great game.

The game has very cool graphics and animations, it's nice to travel the world. But there were a few points in the gameplay that I couldn't figure out.:

1. How long does the sap protect my tree? I give the tree tree sap before the rain, but it still takes damage.

2. When my health bar or the tree's health bar drops to zero, an endless rain begins, during which I can continue to grow the tree. So I can complete the game even if I'm dead or if the tree is dead?

The music and graphics made for a good atmosphere. I think if you fix some bugs, we'll get a nice and interesting game.

As written in the description the game end has a lot od bugs. You can neither win or die but the gameplay is stress-free at least 😆. Generally we run out of time and same applies for the tree sap bar which didnt make it into the game for the same reason. Thank you for your rating !!!

Great visuals, especially when the layers would recognize they were in front of the main characters then fade away. I would just add some more visual and audio feedback to keep the dopamine loop really going!
