I tried really hard but just couldn't really figure out how to do anything. I think I managed to hoe some dirt and plant some seeds but then got stuck. The art style is quite nice though and I read the description and it sounds like you have some cool plans with what to do with it next, so I wish you luck :)
Thank you, I'm a bit sad I couldn't finish it for the deadline but it happens I guess :). Ill try to manage my time better next time haha.
I also had troubles with controls especially with keys and trackpad but I liked the experience, good idea! :D

From what I can tell it feels you have some kind of bug with the controls? I really needed to spam/switch between the inventory. The chest also seemed to didn't want to get placed.
If you can smoothen the controls a bit I can definitely see this as a chill and relaxing game to play when you don't wanna do anything intense.
Sadly in its current state, I can't say I found it enjoyable as the controls were kind of exhausting to use :(
If I were to give you another tip, maybe try out a different font. I'm guessing that a lot of people will skip over the intro since it's a bit difficult to read.
Glad you got it to work somewhat, yeah I feel bad that it was submitted in its current state but all the comments will lead to its development and Ill take them all on board :). Better to be submitted as a proof of concept than not to have tried I guess, so I don't see it as 100% a loss for me.
Spam switch between the inventory? you mean to change items? not really sure how the chest isn't working, maybe something I didn't experience while working on it so more details would be helpful if you would be able to provide them :).
The font is the default font for pico 8 so I just used it for simplicity, but yeah that's another feedback I commonly get so I can try to make a custom one or something.
But yeah, chill desktop toy sorta farming game is what I'm going for, and I know exactly how I want it to be so will make sure it gets there!
https://imgur.com/a/neddGf5 As you can see I haven't placed the chest but have dug up a few holes, additionally the placement indicator(the square border thing doesn't show). Pressing X digs more holes(although I have the chest selected).
To get out of this state I spam Z + X until the placement UI shows up -> https://imgur.com/a/ILEC2bI now on the next X the chest gets correctly placed.
I need to do a similar trick every time I want to switch to a seed/hoe/water. Hopefully, this helps.
Edit: I figured it out. Pressing Z opens the inventory, pressing it again closes it without selecting the new item(although it is still indicated in the bottom left and it looks selected). I needed to select the item/close the inventory with X for it to work as intended :D.
hahaha! yeah thats unintended... oops, Ill make sure to fix this in the next version, this is what rushing looks like :P. I will try to fix a lot of things for the next version, but that will be released after the jam's voting period ends.

I struggled with controls and the goal (I admit, I didn't read so could be my mistake) but I like the minimalistic artwork.

Hello! I played this game and was a tad confused by the controls and it took me a good minute to figure out what i was doing. It's a really cool proof of concept for a farming game but it's missing some key parts such as a real goal and little bits of polish like audio (On the browser version there is no audio, haven't tried the download version).
Overall it's a great start for what could be a well made game if it just had some core gameplay mechanics such as a goal to work towards. Good job!
Thanks for your comment :), you are absolutely correct though, I ran out of time so there is a few things I still need to get done. So no, no audio just yet, and pretty unpolished haha. Pico-8 controls seem to be a source of confusion whenever I have shown people things I made so I need a clearer control page, Ill add it to the list! :)
