What a sweet game!! I love how many details and references were tucked in (Jollibee -> Happywasp got me good) - the amount of love that went in to this one is super apparent! And Jack's section made me hungry so many times, gosh. Bonus points for that alone. The characters all felt sweet and lovable in their own unique ways (which made exploring different routes after my first playthrough very painful), and seeing MC develop was really fun - and everyone's voices were great! The art was really cute, and I loved the comic panel layout of some of the CGs in Manon's section - it worked really well, and made the whole thing flow. Definitely leaves you curious how else things could have gone (or would go in the future!), even beyond the already-impressive three endings you guys did (especially with Diana... I was so hopeful...). For a short jam game to be that good at capturing players is really impressive - big congrats to the whole team!!
THANKS SO MUCH!!! sorry for late reply but im glad you got the jollibee one HAHA we worked really hard on every character so to hear that we really do appreciate it!! thanks for trying our game out seriously!! and super happy you enjoed it <:))
First I hurt myself from laughing. Then I hurt myself from crying. I'm in a lot of pain now. Jack whyyyyyy. Great job, this is a dang good game right here.
HAHA TYYY so sorry we also cried while making this and remembered we are the reason why that happened to him HAHA
im glad you had some laughs and fun! so sorry for sad emo parts :(( tysm for playing!!!
Although I’m not Filipino, having Filipino friends has given me an interest in the culture, and being super into vampires was my initial pathway thanks to the mannangal. The story being set and covering the culture’s monster lore and food culture is really fascinating to experience, and having Jack as the introduction to such felt very genuine and sweet. The art style is very cute, and I like the mystery element of having to ‘figure out’ who you’re spending time with. This being contrasted with the nature of Em Cee does throw me off a little, but I think this is primarily a personal thing, as Emcee’s reactions make sense within the context of their presented personality and job.
Also, idk if it's intentional but Mamon’s jumpscare looked like Sans???
I do think in some instances the nature of the characters you’re about to meet could be a little more subtle, as for both Jack and Manon I had them clocked before even actually meeting them. I’m not sure how more mystery could be incorporated as there is something appealing about integrating their nature into their designs, but it kind of generated a sense of disingenuity due to the protagonist’s personality toward monsters and their job.
But overall a very enjoyable experience, thank you!
THANKS A BUNCH!! we're so glad it peaked interest in our culture and happy to know you had fun! we really had fun doing this and glad Jack's part ate lol
thanks so much for the feedback!!!
glad you noticed :)
It's a great game all around, from the likeable characters to all of the visuals. I particularly liked Jack's section (and not just for the Project Moon reference) because he's such a dork and that bad ending sequence, as painful as it was to click that button, was incredible. Only suggestion I'd have is to make some of the BGMs a minute or two longer before they loop because it got a little annoying to listen to it constantly looping after a while.
thank you so much!! We love jack too and its super fun making him suffer <33 HAHAH jk jk but yes thank you we appreciate the feedback and we'll be keeping it in mind!! Have a great day
