Echoing the others, I wasn't super clear on how things worked, even after reading the instructions on the game page. I wasn't sure what I was doing in the dumpster, or what it meant when I clicked on the dice that I had already rolled and they disappeared, or what determined how many dice I had left to through. I kept tossing dice until the game just... didn't give me any more dice, and there didn't seem to be anything I could do afterwards.
Visually though, the game looks great, and I especially like the yelling mouse on the left
I'm gonna have to echo the sentiments of the others a bit here, I tried looking up how to play craps and even after extensive (5 minutes) research and reading the jam page, I had a rough time figuring out what I was doing. Never played craps in my life, but I do know I'm looking for 7's (I think...?). I hit a point where nothing I would click on (buttons or dice) would do anything, and I had no choice but to quit. When it came to the dumpster, I wasn't quite sure what I was looking for either. I understand that there was supposedly stuff in there for me to look for but I'm not sure what exactly I was "collecting". I will say, big fan of the sound and visuals. I love the little rat bros. The low polly cigs are probably good for you.
looking through the comments, i think others said it best. i personally did find some issues with the gameplay; i didn't really know what i was looking for in the dumpster, i could bribe as much as i wanted, and eventually i would be left with one die that i didn't know what to do with.
that being said, the music and sound effects were great! they fit in well with the cool thematic visuals, and overall felt great! i would loveee to play a version of this with the gameplay tweaked a bit:)
I also had some trouble playing this one. It might be worth having some tutorial/directions screen or something before gameplay starts, though the game page here on itch definitely helped. I kept running into the issue where I would try to pick up the die to reroll but the reroll button wouldn't work and then I'd end up softlocked and seemingly unable to take any kind of action or end my turn.
The aesthetic is peak. The graphics, the setting, the scrambling through the dumpster, and the sleazy laid-back music track. All of that hits strong and makes me want to get the game to work. I also think the video game version of some random parlor game with a weird aesthetic is very idiosyncratic to the types of games that came out in the early days of PSX, like the Mahjong games that came out in Japan. Good work overall!
First off, love the name. I couldn't really figure out how to play, I was just clicking the buttons on the screen and got bored. The visuals are great though, really love that Modelo can!
