There were some really cool things here! I liked the monster designs - they felt really uncanny and creepy - plus the bear trap was cool. I liked the time skip at the start, plus the way that the game 'loops' at the end. I like that you weren't afraid to make the player wait. I thought that the walk to the building near the start and the elevator rides gave the game more of a sense of atmosphere, for example.

Agree with the others about the graphics. I like that you couldn't tell exactly what things were some of the time, but it would look great with a little more polish. Some of the boundaries of objects were off - for example, you can 'climb' the wall of the building with the ladder near the start/end, then keep going up into the sky! I couldn't work out what the screwdriver was for either, and the character's stamina seemed to drain very quickly.

Still, overall this was really cool. Well done!

Really well done game-wise, but yes the art is a bit of an eyesore. It seems a bit wrong when the in-scene art and damn near everything in game looks better than the player character. There are visual moments that work very well, the elevator moving, the hanging, the monster. I quite like lo-rez and minimalist pixel art, but I feel like if you tried just a smidgen harder at the art and worked on consistency, it would really help with the mood of your projects. But kudos for the theme and the intro, I was not expecting the leap of faith at the beginning.

I'm not really sure what I needed my trusty screwdriver for, but this was a fun game! The bear trap (or monster trap, I suppose) mechanic was neat and different. I got lost for a bit here and there, including once outside the world, but I had a good time. I always appreciate a game that allows me to fling myself off a tall building.

hello bro it seems to me that this game has a spectacular idea the only bad thing about the game is its graphics and I know that as an indie it is difficult but there are programs (like gimp) which are easy to use and greatly improve a simple drawing, apart from that honestly I would like that when a monster grabs you it gives you a scare but also applause :D

I absolutely love left-field and weird games with a good atmosphere! This adventure/survival game had some great ideas focusing on a machine setting mostly through the use of elevators. The levels are done well with the right balance of isolation and encounters with monsters. I really like the sound design, which fits the eerie atmosphere too. And sometimes less is more with setting and story – I do like how the player is left to make sense of all the weird contraptions and monsters! I think extending this idea further into a game with more context and structure could be great!

Some feedback I can offer is that it would have been interesting to have the player do more when exploring the areas – particularly repairing the machines or completing puzzles. The graphics assets do the job well but some assets are overscaled – such as at the end, where things get a little blurry.

The idea of adding a ‘new game plus’ mechanic with easter eggs and no collision was a great way to add replay value! I think it broke the immersion a little, but it was fun to find the developer pictures.

Thanks for submitting this game to SCREAM MACHINE!
