It's always a blast to play a game that turns the tables on the usual tropes of the genre, and I like how this straddles the hunter-hunted dynamic well. You're still trying to mess with the hunters, but need to avoid detection. The game's ragdoll physics and ability to disrupt the AI really makes this a fun experience to play.
Thanks for submitting This Is My House to the jam!
Nice take on flipping the script and playing as a ghost!
Kinda fun to scare those ghost hunters away throwing stuff ^^
Good luck with your game!
Very cool concept! I liked the idea of playing as the ghost and scaring away ghost investigators! A really solid idea there! The controls, for the most part, worked well, and the physics seemed on par.
Over all, while it doesn’t take long to figure out what’s going on, it would have been nice if there was an explanation of what each ghost hunter did so the player knows which one is more critical to avoid (though, I got the feeling it was the camera man… that guy was on me like flies on shi..anyway…)
There were times I got the “Scare” message when I was close enough to one of the investigators, but clicking didn’t seem to do anything. It was kind-of a 50/50 shot.
It was fun, though, to keep pelting a guy with a couch until victory was had! Ha! Good times!
If you’re interested, I did stream the game recently.
Thank you for your feedback! The "Scare" action has a cooldown, but we never got to communicating that to the player, haha
Hehe, one of them got stuck in the dark room and I, the greatest poltergeist there is, took advantage of that to just endlessly torment him. Fun!
Anyways, good stuff, I was a bit stumped at what I was meant to do at first, so I attempted to murder them with sofa and whatnot, but once I realized the objective it became pretty fun to just mess about, and I do like how the hunters are a bit reactive to me, with them placing the red ghost detectors around and what not. I think this could work even better given more time to develop, maybe bigger space, some variety to how you can scare them and whatnots. But for a time limited game jam as this, this turned out nicely, good work!
Thank you for your feedback! And I agree, it would be beneficial to have some explanation of the gameplay elements.
Well done! If you can add some instructions on the UI, I think that will be helpful for the player.
Thank you for playing!
Nice game here pretty simple but I love the idea. Gotta ask, is this meant to be the Ghost Adventures crew? If so I’m gonna give you 5 stars right here and right now because I could recognise these faces anywhere.
Thank you! Yes, the characters are meant to look like the Ghost Adventures crew. I'm glad they were recognizable!
Lets gooooo
5 Stars
I laughed so hard on this. When i realised I can throw the oven at the crew I lost it. Also, it looks suprisingly good! Very nice job!
I had a very fun experience with the game. I can't really understand if I kind of exploit the game a bit stucking a camera guy between the wall and a hoven, but throwing furnitures on the crew and hear their screaming was so fun! Also nice to be the "bad guy" for a change.
Love it, throwing the whole kitchen at the film crew had me rolling.
I somehow managed to beat the guys even with a mine field of detectors :D I could see this being a fun multiplayer game
it's a bit confusing as ‘fighting with the ghost’ (I lost by slapping one of the guys, it's pretty funny), but it still made me laugh for playing with the furniture in the house.
I really like the idea/ concept of this game. I was not really sure how to scare the production crew to any effect. They would say Aww and kind of run, but then just keep coming after me and I started losing health for some reason, but wasn't sure why. I feel like a little more instruction would have gone a long way to playability. The graphics were done well and the enemy AI seemed to be functioning well. I also really thought the music / sound effects were well done. Good submission!
Thank you for your feedback!
