This game had me spellbound for a long time. And I loved it.
Let me explain: To start with, I deliberately didn’t want to watch the little tutorial video (I’m stubborn). But in the end, I needed it to detach the trailer after circling the truck for 1 minute haha! This time was enough to trigger a series of strange appearances of a monster running on the spot, then teleporting regularly until it disappeared. I think at this stage of the game, I’d rather not have seen it (I never saw it again, by the way). I understand that I need to reassemble 6000 and look for the interactive elements inside the truck. Here we go! I turned on the radio, and felt right at home in the driver’s seat!
Driving the truck WITH trailer is really okay (Without trailer is a bit difficult, the truck seem slide on ground sometime). The E button seems to be able to brake, but I didn’t feel like I could by holding down the button. Anyway, it’s just a detail for now. The road seems to be generated in front of me, I like that! On the road, I think about life and everyday life as I would IRL, lulled by the music and the snow. Every village I passed, I stopped to do some URBEX (yes, that’s not very serious). I liked seeing details that could only be seen on foot, because they were inside the buildings.
In the end, on my last trip to get the last 1000, I had sudden texture bugs. Textures started shaking, some models took a long time to appear… probably due to generation overload or the webGL version (I played via browser).
Once I had the 6000 in my pocket, I was even touched by the ending. I’m a bit sentimental. I can’t wait to get back to my daughter.
A big bravo for this game, I had never played a truck simulator before yours.
We really appreciate that you completed the game, and we truly value your feedback. Yes, we need to work on the beginning of the game to help players understand what to do before immersing them in the unknown, like the blizzard on the road and what might be hidden beyond it. We may focus on this in the future.
Cool game! I tried two runs of the game, the first one of which I couldn't figure out how to detach the load and after about 5 minutes I guess whatever was meant to be the monster got in and started making growling noises in the first area of the game? I think it was a monster anyway cause I couldn't see it at all. Second run the manager would roast my parking skills despite it being near perfectly parked, so I just tried to cruise around like another commenter and flipped the truck over LMAO
Overall, fun game but I wish it were a little clearer in the beginning what you were supposed to do. Loved the radio too!
Yes, I agree. We need to work on the beginning of the game thoroughly.
I fell in love with this when I turned on the radio, so great!
Thank you! I’ll let our sound designer know that you enjoyed the music :)
I like the nostalgic atmosphere and I really enjied all the radio talk shows. That tutorial was quite helpful! A promising starting!
Thank you for playing the game! If you don't mind sharing, which station were you listening to?
I think I've listened to all the radio stations, but I'm not sure. One being the host reading a creey story from a listener who's a truck driver. Another station was a news report about forced blood donation. I remember the last one was some lofi hip hop tracks with some blood-related commercial in between. Did I miss something?
Oh no, you didn’t miss anything. I was just curious which station you listened to the most, which one you liked best.
If I have to choose, I'd say the voice of the talk show host was particularly soothing, and it was a very engaging story. It managed to ease my nerve a little bit while I was sweating to find the right way to detach the trailer, haha
Very cool idea. I played this on my Mac (M1) and it performed pretty well with the WebGL build so well done on the optimisation side!
I will say that I couldn’t work out how to detach the trailer after speaking to the NPCs, so I just drove down the road for ages listening to the radio. Good game!
Nice aesthetics, I can definitely feel the PS1 vibe from the game. I will say though, the snow particle effect slows down my laptop a lot. Would love to see an optimized unjam version of this game.
Perhaps we’ll work on this if we have the energy and desire.
a game well done, i really like the ps1 style and the low poly made textures. Well made that
Good game, cool atmosphere. Interesting concept, but expected more, I think the game can be improved. I expected some screamers during the transition between locations, but no one jumped out onto the road. The beginning of the game is a bit unclear, a little tutorial is missing I think. I also heard the sounds of a monster, but I did not find it.
А на последок мем на тему:
Ох, как же мы хотели добавить в игру ёкарного бабая)
Думаю тут есть еще не раскрытый потенциал, идея правда очень крутая. Можно потом после джема добавить еще контента.
I like the PS1 style graphics, gave me flashbacks of metalgear on ps1. And the horror vibe
For the driving i suggest adding S as a brake button, and another suggestion is maybe go straight to 3rd person view for the vehicle when you initially enter. I didnt realize for a while I could even go to 3rdperson, (till I read) and it was a little difficult detaching the trailer felt like i had to crouch to be able to press E on it.
Thank you for the feedback! We’ll definitely take your advice :)
Hey! Got to play this. Honestly couldn't finish since i was lacking directions after trying to meet the manager...but loved the atmosphere~
Nice concept, I just wished the controls were smoother while driving.
This game was really fun for me but I couldn't stop accelerating at a certain point and entered the void. I would put a hard cap at how fast you can go and make it a tad bit more clear where to go. also is the game procedurally generated?
Couldnt play it, too heavy for my pc;
If you played the web version, you might want to try the PC build.
i couldn't figure out how to detach the trailer, so i sped off with the truck down the road and who-boy that thing can FLY. i really enjoyed sending it hurting along the road at what felt like 400 mph. the physics on the truck are pretty realistic too. i watched the youtube video afterwards that showed how to detach the trailer, if you felt the need to make that there probably should've been some dialogue in the game about it or it really probably just shouldn't have been hidden like you don't want the player to find it. i understand the location you put it in is realistic, but that doesn't mean the hotspot the player has to click needs to be realistic. still a cool idea though, i feel like truck driving simulators are very well suited for horror
We had a dialogue sequence planned that would gradually teach the player the full gameplay loop, but we simply didn’t have time to implement it. Thanks for the feedback and for playing our game!
i get that, i still think it was cool! honestly the concept alone would be worth expanding on
it feels like a game that was published in the early 00s in the free disc that came with a PC magazine. love many aspects of it, the lack of direction makes me enjoy the vibes more than the actual gameplay, but has such a nice atmosphere and aesthetics I didn't really mind
I definitely like the vibes of this one! I spent a lot of time driving to the left and reached a dead end. Nothing ended up happening and I ended up getting stuck. I think I might have missed a trigger or something
Thank you for playing our game! :) You might have missed the left turn. Eventually, you’ll come across a left turn marked by streetlights. There, you need to pick up the cargo and continue your journey.
i couldnt figure out how to detach! let me know and ill give it another go
Thank you for playing our game! On the game’s page, there is a video tutorial where I show how to detach the cargo from the truck. You might want to check it out.
oh didnt see that, just watched it then. thanks! this could totally be turned into a full game with some optimisations, i love the setting and the atmosphere, and its impressive that you have a car with trailer physics! well done!
It's a very beatiful world and I had a cozy time in the truck, I also had some performance issues on the web build.
the web version is very laggy, yes. It's better to download the build on PC
This looks really cool! Love the setting and ambiance.
I like the art style, make things feel mysterious. I got jump scared by an invisible monster and it scared the crap outta me. I ended up driving off into the void at first but reset the game and drove the other way.
Had a few game freezes when driving at a high speed.
Cool game!
