I liked the fact that you play as the monster. I liked the environment and the atmosphere. Nice job!

Thank you :)

Finished with 1:57 left on the clock for the jam? Damn but it was worth the stress. The graphics are really good and it was fun. I had a few issues with the camera but that might be my pc. Super cool that the player gets to be the villain in the story :)

Hahah! The crunch was real! However it was a lot of fun.
Thanks for the feedback.

The monster is made with high quality. did you make it yourself? I tried to make approximately the same monster in my game, although in the end I decided to leave it just a dark glow instead of texture

Thank you for the compliment! I did model in zBrush, yes. I  modelled everything for the game. I'll have to take a look at your game pretty quick here and see what you mean!

Very fun, although its kinda high performance :)

Thanks! Tried to keep performance in mind. We'll do better next time :)

Unfortunately, I couldn't play most of your game because my laptop couldn't handle it. But from what little glimpses I saw of the game it looked promising.

Ah that's too bad. We tried to keep performance cost low with very limited lights and such. Maybe it had to do with our event ticks. Thanks for the heads up. We'll keep that in mind in the next jam.

really fun concept and cool gameplay! Tiny nitpick, I wish there was a visual indication for taking damage in addition to the audio one haha, I didn't read the game description about light hurting you and got so confused the first time I died

Thank you for the critique! I  agree. The lighting doesn't accurately represent the damage effect area. We could have done a better job at that :)

a harder border around the light aura would be helpful :) but overall I had fun I thought the concept was really compelling!

Couldn't agree more. I think the method we should've used was an emissive decal or something along those lines  to simulate light radius.

Game is fun and really like that you made the player the monster with having a third-person view making moving around the scene really enjoyable in the eerie foggy environment. Enjoyed killing the people to heal while avoiding lights was lots of fun play. Though I couldn't make it past the corn maze so I do apologies on that front the camera kept zooming in (I suspect it being due to the collisions of the 2D corn sprites blocking the ray trace of the camera making it zoom in to the player because the player is technically behind it, but once I moved or turned it would quickly zoom back out since I was no longer behind the corns collision.) The zooming in and out made getting through the maze quite headache inducing having the camera zoom in and out repeatedly at least for me. Tried angling it which did help it a bit, but made getting through the maze a lot harder not turning the camera to see the open spots and just running into walls. Overall really like the game the maze was the only rough part just need the camera to not zoom in and out while in it. (If the problem is what I described then the camera's ray-trace would just need to ignore the corns collision to stop it from zooming in and out when behind it.)

A lot of this review is just me describing my thoughts on why the corn maze causes the camera to zoom in and out, and how I would fix it that being if it was caused by the reason described. Which becomes nullified if that isn't the case. Though for the game as I was describing at the start I really enjoyed the environment and game play it was pretty intuitive with wasd and you describe well how the attack function works, and once I got hurt by the light a couple times I pretty much got the idea of how that worked. So overall fun game and well done sorry for this long review, and I might try again later to get past the corn maze and reach the end.

Hey, I  agree with you 100%! The corn field could have been done better.  We did add a stone path texture to guide the player through the entire map, including the cornfield (it is hard to see through the fog)  until the village. However, upon sending the build out, the fog texture was noticeably thicker than expected, which ended up blocking the texture   showing through easily. The camera was an issue and we had set it to not collide with the corn, however it still would do it anyways.  Thanks for trying out the game, and sorry for those inconveniences.

I thoroughly enjoyed the game; it was an exciting experience to assume the role of the monster.

Thank you!
