This was a cool horror game based on a Twilight and TVD crossover. I enjoyed playing through the game where there was a good storyline and proper game mechanisms involved in the game. I liked the idea of the 2 characters having to switch over when one of them faints/dies as it makes the game more interesting and fun.  The ending was quite unfortunate and heartbreaking but it was well-executed. Would be cool if Edward had wrinkles and white hair too to show the aging process.

A memorable and enjoyable experience. The stripped down nature of a jam game let me enjoy the core of the game without too many distractions. I wish instead of greenery, the scenery used had been of a darker tint, enhancing the melancholic design of the narrative and the music.

Hi! I've enjoyed playing! I almost killed the final boss... but not XD

Good intro and very good aesthetics!

Problems I've seen: Character runs too fast. I died a lot of times because I've collided with the boss.  With dash button is no necessary to walk too fast.

I miss sound effects and there is not any animation when I receive damage. So, without animation and without sound effects sometimes I don't feel that I've received damage.

Anyway, good job! :)

Thanks! I wrote some good story after the final boss.

I have never thought of character movement speed before. No time for sounds tho.

Ops! What a pity I couldn't see that story.

About time, I understand ;). I'll improve my game after the gamejam.

As Dark Souls fans we are always gonna enjoy a good boss fight. As the creator said in a comment, learn the patterns and it becomes much more satisfying. Agree though that audio feedback when damage is taken would make a big difference, and got to say- why is Edward ginger?

Developer(+1)

I had to choose from a art asset with limited number of sprites, and I wanted every character to be unique for their small size. Edward has like brownish golden hair!!? So, RED for now!

Also, true. Fuck my difficulty assessment!

Makes sense XD Actually the difficult final boss fight was a big plus for us (as we said dark souls fans lol) , so guess it just depends on your target audience :)

Then, a better way to approach is by making the initial bosses more difficult. Because, as of now -> the beginning of the game is very easy and the difficulty spikes at Bonnie.

That could work well. Up to you completely which route you take- it's your game :D

Had the same problem as the others on this, found the final boss quite difficult. I don't think the control scheme suited my hand very well, found using space bar to attack while moving and dashing quite uncomfortable.

I found I was taking damage a lot without really noticing (think adding a sound on taking damage might have solved that one).

The music was really crackily too, though I haven't seen any other comments saying that so that may just be me.

All in all a solid concept, but a few small changes would've really improved it for me. Nice work regardless!

Developer

I really upped the bar on Bonnie, didn't I!!? I should learn controlling the difficulty curve better.

Regarding the control scheme, I wanted four for movement (WSAD and Arrow Keys). One for Attack, and other for Dash, and another for Interact. And UI used ENTER and ESCAPE also. What do you think would be a better key configuration for the game?

I added Music at the very last moment without any thought or logic. The music is glitchy at my side too, I only noticed that after the submission, and couldn't figure out any way to remedy that.

I didn't have any time to put in the sounds, which really blew the game bad. The sounds, screen shakes and smooth transitions between levels would've helped the game a lot.

Thank you! Did you complete the final boss?

I personally would've liked the option to have the left click be the attack, but i'm unsure how feasible that is for a HTML5 game.

I never did end up finishing it, found it too difficult unfortunately.

Nice little top down adventure! Last boss was a bit tedious, so didn't finish the game :(

Developer

Damn!

There is a good emotional pay off after Bonnie. If you observe her patterns, she becomes easy to defeat.

Try again bro. I promise you'll have fun!

The final boss was challenging but I liked it.

Thank you!

Did you complete the game? Was the final boss too difficult?

Submitted(+1)

I did complete it. The final boss was not too hard but it had a lot of health. It took much longer to beat than the other bosses.

I liked the game, it has a good story and art style. However it wasn't really horror related in my opinion.

Developer

I was supposed to play with the brightness and Light settings, and implement Bloom and Sounds.

I didn't have time for that tho.

BTW, did you complete the game full? What do you think about the difficulty?

Submitted(+1)

The difficulty was good imo
