If you have implemented the modifier, how have you done so?
The story of the game links to the modifier. I tried to find high quality music that other wise wouldn't fit a junky game and I also tried to make sound effects as annoying as possible
Any additional information for voters?
This is my first ever video game, I'd be really happy to hear your feedbacks on it if you've played it. The game has 4 different endings let me know which one was your favourite!

I sadly wasn't able to beat this one, I think I made it to the final boss but I just couldn't finish it off.
There was some very solid "so bad its good" stuff in this though, which is impressive for a first video game! And props for implementing multiple endings, I frankly gave up on trying to implement those in jams years ago because I found almost no one went to the effort of replaying.
The gameplay itself was kinda interesting, it was neat seeing another game with a dodge roll mechanics. Though frankly I wish I could roll up and down rather than just horizontally.
The healing by standing still worked for me, but it was hard to tell at first. My recommendation would be to have the player hold down Q and have some little whirring sound and small visual effect play. As it is I wasn't convinced pressing Q did anything the first couple tries.
I sadly didn't reach an ending, but this was a solid SBIG entry, good work!
Thank you very much for the feedback and for playing my game!
Very fun game!
Thank you I'm happy you liked it
I love the style of humour here, and I think it hits a great balance of so bad it's good with the sound and graphical style. I got to the greedy ending, which was pretty funny, but to be honest I wasn't really into the game enough to start it over from the beginning. I did also get the joke ending in the first room.
Thank you for your feedback! I would recommend you give it another shot if you have the time and energy, the boss room is very close to the greedy ending and most of my work went into that, so maybe you'll like that more than the rest!
Great entry!
I really liked the surprise endings! They made me laugh and were early enough in the game where they didn't make me want to restart. The boss was really hard, but after (many) attempts I finally got it! (Spoilers: after playing 10 or so SBIGJam games this year, a world without sound didn't seem to bad to me! 😅)
I couldn't quite work out if pressing Q did anything? but otherwise it was fairly mechanically sound. As a trumpeter myself, I found this to be a fairly accurate representation of my day-to-day life!
Thanks for submitting!
Thank you for your kind words! My whole idea when I started working on this project was "Dark Souls but 2D" (hence the name), so I'm really happy that the boss was challenging. I really enjoyed making the suprise endings so I'm happy you've found them!
Pressing Q works (at least it did during testing) it just has a bit of a wond up (0.75 seconds if memory serves me right) and you have to stand still/can't attack during that duration. I might change it after the jam is over if it feels really weak though.
Thank you for your feedback and for providing this jam for newbies like me!
It took a few attempts to beat the boss, but it was pretty fun!
Thanks for the feed back! I'm really glad you've enjoyed the boss!
