If you have implemented the modifier, how have you done so?
Don't think the current theme will count for this entry, since I lacked enough time to do anything with it. But I say, it'll be impossible to get rid of all of the customers in this prototype game.

Any additional information for voters?
Votes aren't necessary, since I was only able to do the key parts such as the customers and order system.

Challenging game! I included it in my compilation video series of the ‘So Bad It’s Good’ Jam, if you’d like to take a look. :)

I've decided to try using a standard format for all my feedback this time around. Please excuse me if I come across as overly curt or miss something important about your game. I'm writing these all quite hastily as there are a lot of games in the jam this year!

What I liked

A consistent visual style with bold colors. I especially like the food items of all things.

The core gameplay loop has potential. It's fun, though the other issues limit the lasting appeal, and I suck at the game, but the potential is there.

The note with instructions was a nice little touch.

What I didn't like

I'm not sure what the bar over the patrons' head means, whether it's related to their happiness or not.

Mouse input is super weird. It seems to have some kind of crazy acceleration that makes the view fly all over the place if you move more than a little. I did eventually get used to this.

No sound, though I understand you basically just didn't get to that yet.

No difficulty ramp as far as I could tell. Again, I'm thinking this just hasn't been implemented yet.

No win or loss conditions. Not sure if the game is meant to be open-ended or not or this just hasn't been implemented yet, or if you haven't decided yet.

Did I think it was so bad it was good?

Seems more like a prototype of a good game, but the final product could be so bad it's good depending on where you decide to take it.

Other remarks

I'm kind of on the fence on the visual style. I do like the consistency and bold colors for sure, but I'm less sure about the block-head characters and sparse environments.

If you miss the highlighted square on the table, the food disappears forever. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not.

Space to take orders and E to drop food seems a bit weird but I did get used to it.

Verdict

There's a ton of potential here but it's definitely a prototype, and not so bad it's good in its current form.

If you have any questions, comments, queries or concerns, please reply and I'll do my best to get back to you.

Ohohoh, I thank you for the critique! Yeeee I still have much to fix in this game. I didn't even have much time to finish up the customer models and had to make their heads blocks. ^^;

I'll later on update the game to fix the mess. Thanks again!

I really enjoyed the mechanic and I thought the graphics worked well for so bad it's good.

Quite a fun little prototype! Obviously not quite finished, but the makings of a good game are really here. Also it's amazing you did all this in Game Maker.

You should be really proud of what you managed to do in the time. Well done!

Thank youuuuu!
