hey, I just wanted to say I was shocked by your most recent comment about my game — and I have a good reason why haha The thing is, I loved your game the most out of all the entries, and I swear I’m not saying it just to return the favour. The morphies just found the place in my heart, the dialogue was very witty and I found the game mechanic very unique

Haha, thanks! I designed the game, but credit for Morphy's looks goes to JapeNess who did the art. In Catalyst's case, I love riddles and deduction, and mythical creatures, and your drawings were really good. We could team up for a jam some time, if the right opportunity shows up. For now, I'm looking forward to Sasquatch's video. It'll be interesting to see which games the judges like.
That was really fun to play! Definitely a great use of the 'evolve' theme for sure! Loved the idea as well, it's just really clever. Plus the art and sound made me feel like I was playing an old SNES game or something, and I loved it!
Really love the humor in this game! Art style is great as well, good job man!
Generation based evolution with a great concept was incredible! The tutorial was just STUNNING! Well done! :D
A few feedbacks-
- The player health in the middle bothered too much, now I know you wanted it to move with player but at this point top/ bottom or on one corner would've been better.
- The left overlay UI looks good but given small ingame area, it takes up a lot of playable space.. instead the game scene could've been limited to a smaller screen area separate from the UI on bottom-right corner.
- Speed should've been clamped or gradually harder to evolve as at last point it was really hard to control for aiming.
- Increasing life span by only a second felt tedious at first as I kept dying but I guess that's the only way to get more generations. Could start from a higher number like 5 seconds could make this feel better.
Good luck on future projects!! :)
What an incredibly cool concept! “The more a creature does of something, the better the following generation will be at it.” Wish the creature could do more things, though.
Graphics and audio together give me the feel of an oldschool 90s game. Which makes me feel all nostalgic.
