I think this has the coolest intro in the Game Jam. It's cool you thought about each book. I've spent so long thinking about the characters that I was super interested on your take of what happened in the books. Super cute graphics. Really cool entry. Well done ^_^

Cute little game! Gives me old-school adventure game vibes. I was too bad to beat flappy bird though lol.

I love the little world you crafted! And that intro sequence is great! I’ll keep an eye out for the full synopsis, I’m really curious about them.

Loved the synopsis for each book at the beginning and the cool way in which they were presented. Really nice little town to explore, and there is a simple joy in scooting around as this version of Ziv. Really good job!

Cute short little adventure, love the Ziv model! The intro was amazing too!

The intro presentation was top notch! Props for finding time to put in a minigame as well.

Thanks so much! We reel you in with the art, but you stay for the Flappy Bird. Unfortunately I think the minigame took a little more dev time from the main game than we had hoped, but we are still happy with how it turned out.

You have a win in my book just for basically writing the 11 books out in the intro.

Thanks, lol. The credit for actually writing the stories for each book goes to EmilyAfterFour.  What is shown in the intro to the game is a very brief synopsis of what was actually written for each book. We have a Google Doc that's holds the full summaries that I may clean up and share with Discord in the near future.

that intro is amazing and the game looks great.

Thanks! I'm especially proud of the intro. The books and their covers are probably my favorite thing I made during this jam :)

Live reaction: "Oh my god... a 'stuffed bear'" lol

I know you mentioned you had to cut your game down and button it up, but I'm so glad you got it into the game jam. I loved the look and humor definitely got a laugh out of me. Also, that intro is a piece of art onto itself.

Thank you for the kind words! The stuffed bear was definitely our favorite pun in the game. Hopefully next year we can use what we learned to make something with a little more content, but this was a great educational experience for us. Loved seeing your game on stream and can't wait to play it for myself!

Steel Love: The Video Game

This was production.

All the models look are so charming and the

geometrical design of the town is satisfying to look at.

That handcraft feel leaves me warm and fuzzy in the belly.

I mean to say, I would eat this game.

The only worry is that sometimes Ol' Chromebeak

gets a little lost between screens post transition, but

also there are screen transitions.

Fixed Camera Angles are my kryptonite, and frankly

these are immaculate.

Such a simple appeal.

(P.S. The Casino is suspect, there are far too many arcade machines)

Developer

Thanks Smile! We really appreciate your feedback. Unfortunately time constraints turned the casino into an arcade, so we definitely share your feelings on that. I look forward to trying your game as well!
