Description
An arrangement/cover of tracks from Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal in an electronic synth style:

- Twilight Hour (National Park)
- Blue Horizons (Surf Theme)

These tracks were made using various hardware synthesisers and effects sequenced and recorded in Renoise.

Chose these as I love the feel of the tracks in this game. Tried to keep with the spirit of the originals while adding some instrumentation/production that wasn't possible within the limitations of chiptune. Would have liked to get a few more done, but unfortunately didn't have time.

Wow, both of these give off that happy - no care in the world - vibe, like nothing is going to stop you from having a good time. Absolutely incredible!!

What a nice thought, thank you!

OMG! National park was great, but man did the nostalgia hit when Blue Horizons started playing. Silver and Crystal are still for sure the Pokemon games I spent the most time playing, so man did it feel like coming home. Thanks for this, it was lovely!

Same for me too, I used to play these games all the time! Thanks, really glad you liked them :)

I especially enjoyed Twilight Hour. Really good sound choices and mixing. It feels a like logical next step from the original chiptune versions, if there were ever to be a modern version of Gen 2 games. Something I'd maybe do differently is to push the call-and-response melodies in Twilight Hour starting at 0:58 back a bit. They kinda jump out at you. Mind you that this is nitpicky and these were really good arrangements. Nice work!

Pure peace. I love these. They're really quite pleasant to listen to in general.

Small constructive critique would just be to maybe have a little bit more contrast with some of the instruments and a slight variation on some of the articulation on some of the notes. This bit is really just putting a polish on it.

It's super chill music. Nicely done.

Twilight Hour: Pokemon Crystal was one of the first video games I ever got and it still stands as one of my favorites. This track was always so soothing and just felt good, and you’ve captured those feelings and enhanced them with this arrangement. You have a great balance of sounds and I really like the choral swells.

Blue Horizons: This has such a silky texture to it that feels like I am just floating up and down on the waves. The melodic production is beautiful with the slides and instrumentation choice. The countermelody works so well alongside it too. This is my favorite of the two and I would be lying if I told you I listened to it only once! Overall great work and thank you for sharing!

It was one of my first video games too and great fun to go back to, thanks so much!

I love the full synth sound that you're going for here! It fits these tracks well. I've always thought that chiptune translates much more naturally into synth than into orchestral arrangements (since chiptune is just synthesis in its barest form) and I totally hear that in your arrangements. I love the voice-like synths for the melody, the note slides and the synth strings. I also like your choice of tracks. As a huge fan of both chiptune and the second gen of Pokémon, thanks for making and sharing these!

Great choices with the different voices you chose. Twilight Hour feels very bright and soaring, love the feeling. Blue Horizons feels great as well. The bass used gives me that vibe that I am bobbing up and down on the back of a lapras. Love the grace notes and arpeggios used as well. Feels very fun. Nicely done, great arrangements.

I think your submission has two copies of “Blue Horizons” by mistake, but I was able to listen to “Twilight Hour” on Soundcloud. Both are done very well, in fact I think I like Twilight Hour better than the official arrangement of “National Park” in HGSS.

Thanks so much! Also thanks for pointing out the issue with the download, hopefully be sorted soon
