The graphics and animations on this game are good, but I found the actual gameplay to be a bit awkward. Since your character rebounds off the walls, if you're not careful, then you'll end up ramming into a bullet that you thought you would avoid. The shooting is a bit simple, but for a game jam game, that's fine. One thing I am curious about is the key drops from the robots — are they random, or is there some other system that determines when they drop? I usually got my first key with around 20 to 30 seconds left, but I never got a second one before the bomb blew up.

While I liked the sprite art of this game (the player damage animation was particularly good), the RNG of this game just made it a pain. I understand the keys shouldn't drop easily, but one round I killed dozens and dozens of robots and didn't get a single key until 30 seconds left. It hurt my hand with just how fast you have to mash the shoot button due to how many robots you have to kill. They also respawn so fast that, outside of subtle movements to dodge, there isn't really a reason to not just focus fire one of the spawn locations.

The lack of sound also just made the game feel a bit empty.

If the robots spawned slower and the keys spawned either by number of kills or just more reliably, this game wouldn't have frustrated me as much.

Otherwise, nice work!

Captured the NES/arcade retro vibes well and the bolts falling are a nice touch.  A music track would have tied it together nicely, but there's only so much time in a jam.

The bolts almost don't make it to the final build. I was skeptical about them being too "noisy" on the screen. And yes, I didn't make it on time for adding a nice chiptune. If we ever continue (at least a bit) this project, that's one of the first thing we will be adding.
Thank you for playing!

I liked the game , It was fun, but hard, and I think they've done it like that on purpose. The controls were frustrating, Specifically movement, which made it hard to aim your shots. The sound design wasn't bad, but it definitely void, just like my soul. The graphics were excellent, they actually felt really retro,

Yes, definitely lacking a nice chiptune there. About the controls, I bet you probably are talking about the acceleration. I was trying to make the moving more interesting than "move left or right", so we gave the robot some wheels and it felt more fun to us. But yes, definitely makes it more difficult.
