Super fun gameplay!

Very clear on what to do, and how to pull it off. I liked that there were multiple cards and different ways to get everywhere so you could route different runs. Only thing is that I couldn’t tell if I should be letting myself be seen or not. It seems to increase the security level, but also seems to be intended at times. Felt a bit contradictory in terms of game mechanics.

About the security level...

It's meant to not be punishing, but sometimes when cleverly used it's meant to be exploited. Getting seen is intended only on the first level, just to teach the player about it. Later it's not required, but should be kept as an option.

"Felt a bit contradictory in terms of game mechanics." because it's not strictly a stealth game. It's more of a puzzle game, as someone mentioned. But that's on me if the player has wrong assumptions.

Thanks!

I am bad at this but clearly on me.

This is a keeper. Pretty addictive hook. The controls work well. The guards make sense. Plays more like a puzzler than stealth but I like it. Well designed. You should polish this up somehow so you can get a full vertical slice that catches eyes. I really like it.

Thanks! Glad you liked it

A really fun stealth game.

The game is simple but not too simple.

Leader board and timer system has a good replay value.

You have done a good job.

Thanks! Happy to hear that

Very nice game! Really enjoy stealth games so this was a lot of fun! Gameplay was nice, some music would be nice, and the sound that played when you collected a lot of bags of money at once could be a bit overbearing. But otherwise I loved learning the movement patterns of the enemies and triggering them to check out a buzzer to make them open doors, very clever! The leaderboard was a great way of adding some replayability to get the top time. Some of the maps were a bit big, maybe a zoom out or map view would help them feel a bit more manageable, just as a suggestion. Very nice work overall!

Thanks!

"Some of the maps were a bit big" The third one for sure, but which others? This one is already zoomed out more that others.

About the minimap, I considered it. But it would spoil the map before you could explore it and implementing a system that would reveal it as you discover was too much.

Fun game I completed all 5 levels!

The game play is simple and fun! It's easy to understand what to do while also be challenging from dodging enemies and collecting cards to get treasure/money.

The leader board and timer system is a great touch which adds replay-ability if you want to go for the top time.

The only thing I would change may be to decrease the map size. There were some areas that were open and didn't have enemies or anything. But this is just a minor thing overall good job!

"The only thing I would change may be to decrease the map size. There were some areas that were open and didn't have enemies or anything." Yeah, I learned this one after making level 3 (It's actually the first one made). Do you think that way only about the third one or all of them? There is also an issue that all of the rooms are empty, but I don't have the capabilities to decorate them.

Submitted(+1)

No not all the levels. Level one was great good size and each room had a clear purpose i.e. new mechanic or there is an enemy to avoid.

As an example this is a room in level 2,

there's no enemies or items so I think making the room simpler would serve the same purpose but like I said it's minor

Nice game! Speedrunning stealth game is such a good idea, it was really fun exploring the level first time and trying to speedrun it while becoming more familiar to it. Also I think there are still lots of mechanics and other gameplay options you can add to expand this idea (if you want, of course). Overall, great job!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

"Speedrunning stealth game is such a good idea" well I didn't really come up with this. I just played like a thousand hours of HITMAN and wanted to make something in this style.

I would love to expand this idea, but I really find it difficult to work on one project for a long time, maybe in the future.

Thanks for playing and feedback.

The overall game and idea is really good.

Things were well placed, and the balance regarding moving from easiest to hardest is nice as well, the ai guards move really well on the environment.

One thing i'd add is maybe some more BGM and SFX, i think that with good music it can one of those games you won't stop playing. Really great work!

"the ai guards move really well on the environment." forgot to credit. I used the amazing A* pathfinding project. Recommend it!

"One thing i'd add is maybe some more BGM and SFX, i think that with good music it can one of those games you won't stop playing." Totally agree, but I can't really make it myself and I don't want to pay someone.

Thanks!

I saw the thumbnail and from one stealth game dev to another I knew I had to play it.

I'm not sure if it's intended or not but most of the time I can get caught and just outrun the guards which doesn't make them very scary. I think you should be able to outrun them if you do some good corner strategies and delay them behind walls and doors. but that's just a balancing issue besides that the gameplay is good maybe some more ways to distract the enemies or harder ways like throwing something etc.

Good job on the level design. it got increasingly harder with more features added, maybe add a minimap for bigger levels, especially the ones with the portal are quite confusing in the beginning.

About the minimap, I considered it. But it would spoil the map before you could explore it and implementing a system that would reveal it as you discover was too much.

"I'm not sure if it's intended or not but most of the time I can get caught and just outrun the guards which doesn't make them very scary" there is a system that adds additional guards and makes them faster each time you get seen. I found out that players seem to not notice it, that's on me. I didn't want getting seen to be to punishing. I even hoped that good strategies would involve tactically getting seen.

Thanks!

I really enjoyed it! The art and audio need a bit of work but the gameplay is rather good. Well Done!
