  • Great job, really. Played smooth as silk. Great combo of elements. Especially good job on the enemy diversity/representation and clearly delineating each type so at a glance you could tell differences and behavior. Art was simple but communicated the idea generally well.

Did you include your Game Design Document as a Google Drive link?
Yes?

Seriously... did you include your Game Design Document?
Yeah

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yes.

Tell us about your game!
The game is designed around the collection of "Umbra." It is the shadowey remnants that monsters in this world leave behind when defeated. The idea is to collect different types of Umbra and use them to craft items and upgrades!

Extra Notes
I am still really new to this! So I had no idea Gamemaker actually allowed me to test in various ways.

Thankfully I have solved the issues caused by this, however this did still result in no pause button, the gameplay loop thankfully is short enough.

Nice game! It's again one of those game I am screaming more when it suddenly ends! Love the art style, the combat, the consistency of everything combined make the game feel so nice. Love it! I am having the Binding of Isaac vibe here, and that's one of my favorite game of all time!

The upgrade system that uses three elements that seems like each have a special focus is such a nice touch of the game, it just a pity that the game ends before I am upgrading to what I want the character to be. I haven't even tried some of the upgrades yet. My only complaint is that you should expanded the screen a bit, such that the UI is on the side rather than overlapping the level. It does blocks the action a bit and let to some unexpected damage.

But overall, this is a very solid game. Well done!

Nice work! Making three currencies is a good idea and this concept is polished. Very well made game, I had fun :)

Thank you for the opportunity to play!

That was such a cool experience!
The design is so great well done!
Different types of enemies color and shape coded with their upgraded versions - AMAZING!

Catchy song, great sfx and vfx - player feedback is awesome.

Nothing bad I can say about it but it is so short... Gimme more!
Great concept and execution!

Tight! Nice and crisp controls and graphics. Feels super finished already! Depositing the shapes to the upgrade-system and then going to the computer to buy shit felt super good. The actual upgrades themselves unfortunately felt lacking. Just increasing my HP- or DMG-stat by couple of points didn't feel that rewarding.

There was also a visual bug for me; Whenever I alt-tab'd away from the game and back, the background and the walls had changed colors to bright basic colors. Like the whole floor was a flat, saturated green and walls red or something along those lines. It fixed itself though whenever I alt-tab'd away and back a second time.

All in all, completed the game, enjoyed myself. Would have liked a little more challenge, now I was never in a near-death scenario because the upgrades pumped up my HP a lot and I could keep the enemies at bay with the weapon. I say it's a good prototype. With some more variety in enemies, player upgrades and levels would be a great one!

The visual bug is a big oopsie on my part, that was meant to be for debugging but I left it in.
I will be trying to further develop this game, so variety and stat balancing will be on my agenda.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback!

Fun game! It feels like you are going in a loop without progressing after a while, but overall loved the feel and the look of the game!

An excellent little rogue-lite with snappy fun combat and a cool progression system.

The art is simple but distinctive and has a style that you clearly understand and make your own. Great stuff.

The upgrades can be a little hard to distinguish what each does at first, could probably do with a tooltip. But a tiny issue compared to how cool the rest of it all is.

Great stuff, looking forward to seeing what you create in the future!
