Yeah, like Andy said … it’s a pleasure for me every year to play your games in this game jam. Your submission is always workable, funny and amazing to me how it can work in 1k bytes. The “camera” sound is a great effect, but I didn’t get that:

thanks. the print string is flip() cls(1) and setting palette. ⁶ is a shorthand for \^. palette is being set by poking memory at 0x5f10 but I skip 2 bytes as first color is typically black. here's more info https://pico-8.fandom.com/wiki/P8SCII_Control_Codes#Poking_memory

Very well executed and visually impactful (as always).
Great setup too, with such a deep meaning to every play ("life"), which was quite profound the more I played it.
Alas, tried several paths and never quite seemed to find the border (but in my heart I know it's there).
The vertical pacing threw me also when I tried on mobile, but found it a lot easier with keyboard controls.

Thanks. Yes, border is there, just needs couple of trial and error runs. I'll probably wait for couple of days and if it will be too hard will release map of the area.
Pretty tricky with that slow vertical movement. I haven’t managed to complete it yet.
I see the vertical movement speed is intentional, but it makes it a little frustrating since the reasoning is unclear.
Sound design and graphics are really great, atmosphere is good and the whole game feels really tense! I especially like the grainy effect of the camera.

Thx. Game is challenging because passing the border illegally is not a trivial task. But I am not a sadist - map is always the same, based on same, carefully chosen seed. Do not worry about movement speed difference, the layout takes that into account.
