I really had high hopes I remember playing tons of these kind of games on console in the 90s renting them from the video store and staying up all night to beat them.... Well this game let me down. down. down.

It reminds me of that little game of the month, if I can assess myself to thank you too.

Funny concept! could have loved to teleport into another dimension at the end!

Nice concept, it's actually fun!

I think there is a luck of feedback since at the beginning I didn't understand the point of the game. I thought that all acceleration buttons don't work. I expected acceleration to be very visible.

Only after a while I realized that acceleration works, just not as fast as I thought.

Fixation of the record score would fit nicely as well.

But these are details. Overall it's fun experience, so good job!

I really enjoyed cruising along at light speeds, it was very fun! Also  the different messages depending on what speed you died at was a great touch

i played it a few times, died multiple times so i dont know if there is an ending to this game? Anyway the game is very fun to play i played it on my phone,it runs very neatly.

I'm on google chrome on linux, it may be a me problem but I kept having long freezes even at slow speeds.  I did get to a decent speed though and judging by the comments there is a decent pay-off.  :)

Developer

Sorry to hear that and hope you still enjoyed it when it was not frozen.

Im grateful for the safe spot in the middle. I dont think I would have manged to reach the end by playing properly :')

I like how the cars just start flashing by as you get close to light speed.

The stacking inputs and the breaking audio after getting past the sound barrier are both good takes on the jam theme.

Thanks for the nice feedback.

Those save spots were intentional, you can even go off road when you are fast enough to clip out (also intentional, clipping my favorite game feature as someone who speedruns casually)

Also I am not sure if you can reach the end properly, past sound barrier it gets tough, but probably with enough luck and cars flashing over you intead of hitting |-')

Thanks for the tip, it helped me a lot to understand the mechanics. Pretty fun, but I think it may lack a feeling of progression towards the goal ? Congrats for doing it alone!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback.

I know I was sloppy with the ending, especially after it clicked for me how fast light speed really is and how high the speed would be and thought about the player just catching up to the other driver but decided against it for no good reason ^^'

In my case Shift, Space, Enter does not work :(

Developer

Sorry to hear that. Could it be that it was key blocked because you pressed too many? Depending on the keyboard some keys block others out.

I just tested it and they do increase speed for me, but there should be enough other options left for you to go so fast that obstacles will no longer visually load in.
