  • Love me a card-game and this was great. Took a few runs to figure out how it works, but great mechanics!
  • I do wish there were instructions, but I love card games so it was fun to figure out! Great job getting this done considering the amount of time you had!

How does your game bring our theme, The Error is the Feature, to life?
I took a more literal approach to the theme. The Error is a canonical event in my games world that caused all of the once peaceful robots to attack the humans. The whole game you work to research and trouble shoot The Error, all while defending your settlement.

Did you include a fake publisher splash screen at the start of your game?

No

Did you use the Audius API in your game?

No

If AI was used in your game, let us know how you used it.
Very minimal coding help. No other uses.

Kinda addicting gameplay! I am a bit confused, why the red kingdom takes so long to unlock, since my strongest builds usually exclude using red.

Maybe a short explanation for people who have never played a game like this before would be useful? I was pretty lost at the beginning.

But all in all, I really liked it!

I just want to say I really liked this game! The gameplay is totally my thing, even if I can’t actually win it XD

Pretty interesting once you get over the initial hump. The game kinda threw you into the middle of the fight without any explanations, so like a lot of other players I was quite confused and needed to replay it a few times to get what was going on.

With the said however, I think there's a bug that hinders a good portion of the strategy of the game, which is that for me the dragging function to rearrange the card in my board doesn't function. So basically I just choose whatever upgrade I get without doing any other interactions, which I felt was quite limiting. Other than that the game mechanics seem to work fine. There some ok visual effects, but the most important ones I think that are missing the the one for actual player interaction with the UI elements. The game window was also the wrong size for my screen, so I had to zoom out on the web page to see fully.

Overall I think the concept has some potential, just needs to add more polish to it.

Very intriguing game mechanics and beautiful artwork!

Great game! :D

The intro is so well animated, it took a second to understand what  I was looking at after it... Gameplay is fun, I think it actually has potential, but I wish there would be a tutorial. I also like the theme integration through the plot. Is there more of the story later in the game? I think I've missed it... This jam has a very small amount of narrative games, so I'm looking for them :)

Really cool concept and idea for the theme BUT....

that main menu music sounds suspicously similar to a certain block game...

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for playing Griefergang!

The menu music is definitely inspired by C418. I also drew inspiration from Hollow Knight by using a harp in harmonic-minor key of F#.

I think it really creates that somber-spooky feel of the post-apocalypse vibe!

Unique blend of a deck builder and auto battler with a really appealing presentation. Well done!

Developer

Thank you Neat Trick!

Actually a pretty solid concept and I like how it is implemented. A bit long in this current iteration but that's just a matter of tweaking some numbers here and there. Good potential to be expanded with more mechanics.

Developer

Yeah, with the 3 day time limit I didn't have much time for balancing, so the game is definitely a little long.

I'm definitely going to expand it post jam and rebalance it!

Thank you for the comment!

So I actually finished it, and spent hours on it, but my god I went in blind. I think with some more thoughtful gameplay and quality of life it could be better. Furthermore the trash can doesn't work - maybe thats your bug implementation?

Developer

Hmmm, the game definitely needs a tutorial. That is something I'm hoping to add to the post-jam version.

As for the trash, you drag cards onto the trash to trash them!

Thanks for the rating!

Bean Counter go brrrrrrrr. Was an interesting take on card and auto-battlers, reminded me of Loop Hero, as it's also a auto battler with card mechanics

Developer

I loooooooove loop hero. My inspirations for this were Super-Auto-Pets and Furnace (board game).

Thanks for playing!

This game is amazing! I do wish there was an info panel that appears when you hover over items, but I was able to figure things out eventually.

Developer

A tooltip will be in the post-jam release! Thank you for playing and rating!

Nicely complex mechanics. The order of your cards matters. Is there an explainer or some more details about how to play effectively?

Developer(+1)

A tutorial is something I didn't have time to add.  It will definitely be on the post-jam release!

Thank you for the rating!
