Description
Genre: I'm....not sure. I tried mixing a lot different styles. During my initial brainstorming, a number of completely unrelated inspirations came to mind, including Studio Ghibli, Persona, Brian Wilson (RIP), and different Vocaloid producers such as Kikuo. So I basically tried a feeble attempt at smashing all those things together.

Kind of Game: I imagined a Persona-like RPG for this one, though the idea of the game itself was never very well-formed.

Prologue: A scene at the beginning of the game
Starnight City: Overworld/city exploration theme
landscape: Dungeon theme (but like, a particularly tranquil dungeon I guess?)
Fata Morgana: Battle theme
To Bid the Sea Adieu: An emotional scene
Master of Dreams: Boss theme
New Tide: Ending theme

DAW: FL Studio

Message from the artist
Yeah, I'm not really sure exactly what it is I cooked with this one. My concept was very shaky this time around, so there might not be as clear of a musical direction as the last time I did this. At some point, I just had to commit to the ideas I had and try to make something cool out of them. To make up for it I experimented a lot and tried to go for at least somewhat better production. However, I think the melodic tenet ended up lagging as a result (yes, I wrote 3 leitmotifs, spammed them over all the songs, and called it a day). At the end of the day, though, I did plenty of things I've never done before, and was somewhat surprised by what I was able to pull off under the constraints.

P.S. Sorry for the inconsistent volume levels. I exported in a hurry lol

Theme

One Summer Night
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I envisioned the game as being about an apathetic girl who goes on a (perhaps magical) journey of introspection on the last day of summer. The image inspired the vibes and the cover art.

I feel like you could just take it and plonk it right into a game, sounds super polished! Imo mixing different styles together really payed off, it very much feels like it's own thing. I was tapping my foot at the prologue already and with each song I liked it even more, brilliant work!

Editing to add that I listened to it again and Master of Dreams is an absolute banger, k bye!

some quite nice and distinct types of music, yet still cohesive, well done

Loved this from start to finish, there was a good variety of moods and you managed to make them all go down smooth!

Honestly, the whole playlist slaps, well done! The mix of styles works well.

Starnight City is a certified Banger. really great job on that one! Actually, So was Fata Morgana! You have a great sense for the speedy energetic tracks!

More connection to the theme would be nice. Even something small like saying you added the warm saxophone to represent the warmth of a summer night would help even if just a little.

The final song as you said in the description was a good bit quieter than the rest it seemed.

Thanks!

I did try to use chord progressions and instrumentations that make me think of summer and the ocean for certain songs, but like I said my concept was a little weak, so it may not have been consistent throughout

A nice mix of styles, you might not know how to qualify it, but one can tell it's creative!

Great album, loved the variety in it. Your melodies were very nice, and your MIDI programming felt pretty natural to me!

Super solid submission overall!

I really enjoyed the range of energy across the board. The slower, more "emotional tracks" reminded me a lot of older pokemon pieces, and the higher energy stuff was incredibly well done. I also loved the presence of the piano throughout the whole project. Well done!
