Description
For the jam i composed a Rock soundtrack. Based on a concept for a game of FPV drone racing and FPV kamikaze runs. Please view the project page for a little more detail on the game concept.
I wanted to make three tracks from the start, with the concept of the game in mind, i quickly turned to rock. I focused mostly on layering and arpeggiating chords, while creating space, with synthesizers/Piano. Layering in rhythm guitars for a bit of drive on the track and improvise a lead melody on top.
Sky Rush Theme:
The main theme, meant for an exciting start of a chase with a more recognizable lead melody.
Free flight:
A more peaceful track. A flight without a chase. Taking control and cruising more comfortable before the chase.
Final Chase:
The end of a chase, nearing a target and chase it down.

really nice work! your creative use of panning adds dimension to your first track, and i love how you wrote your drums. your second one had some powerful synths to introduce and it really captured the "flight" feeling you were going for. your final track very intense and i'm loving the rock/metal style!

Combining rock guitar and drums with electronic sounds can be tricky, but this soundtrack makes it look easy. Every track has an instantly recognizable lead melody and unforgettable vibes. Overall, this is a super interesting take on the theme as well as a very cohesive album overall!

I liked the first track a lot. I don't know if it was a guitar or a synth playing the notes in the left ear but I really liked that instrument!

The percussion and guitar played here were so well done and made for a submission that it very unique. My favorite has to be Free Flight. The guitar, bass, and percussion played made for a very nice and chill vibe that I enjoyed all the way throughout.

Interesting take with rock, first submission i've heard with that yet. I think you got some nice ideas but for the composition there is some small inconsistencies like some chords and melody are crashing from time to time together. I think Sky Rush is your best so far, I would take off the piano notes at the end it felt out of place with the rest of the track. Also in terms of mix, your guitars bass and melody sound fine but the drums is weak compared to the rest, it can clearly be more compress and in your face. Anyway hope this helps, good job :)
Thank you for the feedback. Its my first jam and first time writing in this style. So the feedback definitely helps. I do recognize the points you make. In terms of the drums there's already pretty heavy compression on them, but especially the toms, snare and kick could be more in your face. I have some ideas on how to fix that, so will try that out to see if i can improve it.
I'll keep this in mind for my future writing!
