Description
Genre: Botanica x Hyperpop x Videogame OST
DAW: FL Studio

This song is made to emulate a glitchy ethereal underwater world in a game. Imagine swimming along and the natural world around you morphs almost like water. To achieve this effect I wrote five parts to this song, each with a botanica/hyperpop feel. Using organic instrumentation and juxtaposing it with electronic synths creating a highly granularized and ambient/electronic track that feels like floating through water and fighting.

Each Track:
0:00-1:33 ACT I - Exploration
Symbolizes exploring the underwater world building tension as you get closer and closer to the boss fight

1:33-3:05 ACT II - Fight
In Act II we enter the boss fight with a higher feeling tempo. Using trap/electronic drums and glitches to contrast with the ethereal organic instrumentation, showing this is not something belonging to this beautiful underwater world

3:05-3:52 ACT III - Post Fight Interlude
The fight is over tension is released, a cutscene plays. Strings plays and the central leitmotif comes back easing the player back in to a calming sense.

3:52-5:41 ACT IV - Victory/Rewards
A happier tone fills the air, making use of guitars, vocals whilst continuing the leitmotif, the player is rewarded for their effort in defeating the boss. This is the happiest part of the track, using bright instrumentation and organic hand drums.

5:41-6:15 ACT V - Outro
The player ventures to the next level, with only a piano and a delayed pluck playing the leitmotif, the adventure is over in this level, but not the game.

It was massive, wybous and made me want to drown. Nice job with the effects!

I love it!

The sound combination you came up with here is so great, love it a lot!!! The processed sounds, the effects you added, everything just fits so well here. Great stuff!!!!

The creative approach to instrumentation and just sound design in general blew me away, really reminded me of Pale Raine by Imase. PUNPEE, and Toby Fox!! Those elements made it so fun to listen to because the rhythms were always engaging. I think there was a little bit to much high end on some of the percussion, some ringing coming thru there i think. I also think some of the background in ACT I had a bit too much reverb, but both of those are more minor nitpicks. Excellent work!

There's not one thing I can pick apart from this OST. Everything is perfect! Amazing job!

Woah!! What? This is so, so beautiful. Incredible soundscape and textures. The first I've been introduced to for botanica, the piece uses those elements so naturally. I'd be curious if adding other orchestral elements could help at times, especially because of how well I find say, the srings fit in the intro and piano fits like at 5:00. But just to add to an already really incredible job!!

Actually beautiful. ACT IV is my favorite but everything is was a joy to listen to. Good mixing, transitions, and melodies. For sure left an impression. Keep it up!

ACT I - Exploration: This is a very ethereal track. I feel like I’m floating through a psychedelic water current! The strings and percussion give direction to the track at the right moment

ACT II - Fight: This is a creative way to represent a fight scene where there is more silence and open space than the previous act. The minimalistic aspect of this act adds tension and allows you to build up into the next act.

ACT III - Post-fight Interlude: I like the wave/rain ambience. I feel like I’m being cleansed by the big pure pads you use. The way the melodies meander remind me somewhat of Electroplankton.

ACT IV - Victory/Rewards: This is a very pleasant act to listen to. I love the beat that comes in at 4:40.

ACT V - Outro: I love the bells with varying delays at the end. It ties it all together very nicely!

Overall: I think it is really cool that you put all your acts in one audio file so that they flow together. I mentioned the sound is similar to Electroplankton, but the overall imagery I had while listening was a similar sort of calming visuals game. Well done and thank you for sharing!

Quite interesting mix of sounds and textures. I really like the mix of genres and styles to choose and also the sounddesigne and noises. While I feel the mixing can be improved, I realy liked your soundtrack and would love to hear more of it.

The ambient noises were very well done. Super atmospheric and pleasant!

Incredible. I could picture every moment that was described in the acts as if I was playing the game. Layers upon layers of dynamic melodies and timbres working together in wonderful aquatic harmony. Truly wonderful!
