Description
The game I envisioned this soundtrack to be for involves a character that breaks out of the timeline, and explores new and strange areas where time behaves strangely. I tried to create a bright and airy sound, as I feel like it compliments the colours on the art, but I also wanted things to sound a little strange and unnatural. I tried to use a few different 'time altering ' techniques, like speeding up/slowing down the music, using odd time signatures and polyrhythms, and reversing audio.

I used Reaper as my DAW.
I hope y'all enjoy it!

Theme:

Tick Tock...
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I decided to use the concept of time to compose this OST. All of the tracks use a clock ticking sound effect as percussion, and they are all affected by time in some way: the first track speeds up, the second track is in 7/8, and the third track uses a 3 and 4 polyrhythm and reversed audio.

First track has a nice, slow build up. It takes some time to get there, but the payoff is solid when it starts to pick up and it never felt boring up to that point. When the tempo starts to change, things get a little manic and it's a fun ride. Nice 7/8 time signature in the second track, it's a fun little bop! Moving in reverse also has a nice build up. Overall, the soundtrack has a good amount of variation to it - the reverse sounds play well with the theme, and nothing ever feels stale. Nice work overall!

Bopping to the 7/8 time signature and the interesting rhythm and the "Bap Bap" with the panning effect in 7 step skyline. Reaching the End has that ambient feel, I like it. Moving in Reverse, the 4 against 3 polyrhythm with the panning and echo, along with the eerily comforting swelling effect, 3/4 drums to top it off made for a good ending to an overall melancholic piece.
Good job!

Track 1: The energetic build up with the electric guitar felt very fun and was definitely a good decision given the instrumentation you had!

Track 2: I like the use of the uncommon time signature, and you were able to make it feel very natural!

Track 3: The sound reversed elements are really cool and a very nice touch! Creative use of polyrhythms! The panning made it feel like there was a spectrum of sound and rhythms which is cool that my ears were giving me different info while listening. Great work and thank you for sharing!

What a Lovely Soundtrack. So eerie and calm, melancholic yet hopefull...
and it's easy to listen as BGM but have enought presence as the main song...
Simple wonderful work.

really pretty compositions! the pads created such a calming atmosphere, but then adding the drums created a groove to each track that i wasn't expecting! the speed up in "Reaching the End" caught me off guard, but you made it resolve really well into that original tempo! "7 Step Skyline" was also really well done! 7/8 is not an easy time signature to compose in, and you did so quite competently.

well done :)))

Liked how you tried to play with the time aspect from a more music theory standpoint. The first track was fun, especially near the end where it felt like a less complicated math rock kind of thing. And I always love 7/8 time signature, one of my favorite to write songs on.

While the use of a ticking clock was an all-too-frequent appearance on most of the submissions (mine included...), I do quite like how it brings us into the opening!

Loved the entrance of the drums and electric guitar, and the slow buildup of intensity! The panned voices in the next track are really cool, and I love the 7/8.

For this final track, I want to caution you against this all-too-common error. It seems like you've taken the same 2 bars and looped them, then added on/taken away instruments throughout the rest of the track. While eventually the chords and things do change, this repetition can subdue the listener's attention.

All in all, you did an amazing job with this soundtrack, and I enjoyed how you varied each track. Good work, and keep writing!

This is awesome! I love the way you incorporated the theme into the heart of every track. The composition is really good, the production is great and overall this is fantastic!

Great job!
