Description
Only had a couple days to work on this jam, so i decided to do an ambient soundtrack. Looking at the prompts, i got the idea of a sort of puzzle game where you clear levels/worlds by collecting pieces of time to make time flow normally again.

I mostly went with a basic idea that i then built upon with different effects (reversing, bitcrushing, distorting etc.) trying make the tracks feel a bit "soundscapey"

Theres also a contant ticking noise in all tracks (a bit hidden in some, than others)

Software used:

Daw: Cubase Artist 11.5

VST: Kontakt 5 (Piano, Celeste, Voice), Spitfire Intimate Strings (Pizzicato) and NI Massive for synths.

FX: Shaperbox 3 (just got this from a sale, really great multi fx plugin), Blackhole (pitch shift reverb) and some cubase stock fx plugins.

Message from the artist:
Thanks for listening! All critique is much welcomed.

Theme:

Tick Tock...
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I tried to have a sort of "pulsing" going in the music (mostly in the level/area tracks), and got the ambient washed out idea from looking at the picture

Cool atmosphere and the style fits the image really good, but in my opinion you use same chords for too long time in your tracks. Good job!

Thanks! I agree with you on the chords, i rushed a bit with this jam.

I guess that the pulsing in your soundscapes work very well. I think it would complement the game just right! Great sounding also! I enjoyed listening to your music! :)

I loved how I felt the mood of the tracks swinging back and forth, often with only subtle changes between them but still managing to evoke different moods. One of the best non-literal interpretations of the theme I heard all jam. Normally this is where I'd put suggestions for how to make it better, but you pretty much nailed it. Must be something in the water in Finland - some of my favorite ambient/abstract music comes from Finnish producers.

Very professionally made ambient! Nice soundscapes! Well done!

This is some amazing stuff you made. Not an atmospheric guy but the sound design and pacing of each part kept my attention.

The tracks really fit into a puzzle solving sort of game, and I really like your use of reversed sounds to add to the time stylization of the tracks. Really cool stuff!

You've done amazing work in just 2 days! Really loved each track's vibe, I felt they suited the intended setting perfectly. Your choices of instruments/sounds are also very effective in creating that otherworldly atmosphere. I can totally imagine a game with this soundtrack!

Very peaceful. I loved the strings in Lateral Thinking and the voices in In Limbo, giving a very interesting texture and a symbolic idea of "constance".

I'm biased. Anytime I see an Ambient soundtrack, there's a good chance of it landing in one of my playlists. Good sound design and usage of twinkly textures to convey this suspended, ethereal, frozen-in-time feeling.

You've done such a great job, the textures and the overall style of the pieces make them impossible to forget. Awesome!

Really nice soundscapes, gives me a kind of trippy/surreal/exploring feel - and I guess the kind of game I envision is of that kind - some puzzel solving game with skewed perspective or out-of-place things happening seemingly random. Nice job!

You created a nice atmosphere, very immersive

really cool! the soundscapes you made are genuinely super well made :)

Thanks! I tried to pratice on using more creative production things (reversing etc.) than i usually do. Super glad things came out ok.
