Description
This OST is more of a cinematic style soundtrack meant more for cut scenes or story rich moments.

Opening cut scene -Story of the Runaways- The elder gathers everyone to sit around the fire and tells the "Story of the Runaways".

Cinematic style scene -The Runaway-You are the Runaway. Taking on the forest one moment at a time. Building up your stamina, training harder and pushing yourself to new limits. Your job is you lure any danger away from the group and make it back in one piece.

I used Cubase Pro as my D.A.W

Message from the artist:
I appreciate anyone who takes the time to listen. I had a blast working on this and look forward to future jams!

Theme:

Runaway
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I attempted to use instruments that fit the nature (no pun intended) of the picture theme. I used the word theme to build the idea of my game around. I wrote one of the songs with an upbeat tempo to fit the idea of fast paced movement. I also incorporated SFX of my own recording to help build an environment that matched the picture theme.

I like the percussion! This is so DK Country😁 Well done.

Nice simple and catchy track. The quiet part of drums solo really brought me back to Age of Empires II times haha.

Thanks! I appreciate you giving it a listen. Glad there was a small bit of nostalgic feeling there!

Woah this is like groovy jungle lofi. It really works well with the balance of the percussion and melody and even the soft pads in the background. Especially the low one that comes in strongly at around 1:50. Great quality a really distinct style. This is a very memorable entry!

Thank you muchly for the kind words. I appreciate it!

Lovely OST! I like rhythm section, really groovy, underlying sounds nicely illustrate situation, electric guitar in the first track is really cool and... is there a rattlesnake in my boot at the end of second track? :D
(And pixel art cover is nice!)

Thank you for saying! I very much appreciate it. Love the Toy Story reference btw. But it was meant to be just a transition out of the danger. but I will leave it up to the listen to imagine whatever they like :)

Nice ambience! I love the fire sound and the story-telling atmosphere, can almost picture it. Great work!

Hi! I felt the atmosphere so clear. Very compatible with the theme. Soft and minimalist. I like it.

Developer

Hey Besa! Thank you for saying, glad you liked it :)

Great use of SFX, I definitely need to use some next time myself. The first track reminded me of the intro to the Bastion OST - now, you just need to add a voiceover and it'll be perfect :D I also liked the lush pad, would be great if the guitar was a real one.

Developer

Thanks! I love the Bastion OST! but I can for sure hear it now that you mention it. I very much appreciate your kind words. I am a drummer normally and play a bit of Piano. I wish I could play guitar like that. But I must settle for what Cubase and its instrument library gives me. Though I did think the nylon string guitar was a decent choice :)

Love the SFX, and even more impressive that you recorded it yourself. Really enjoyed the percussion in the first track!

Developer

Kas! Thank you very much, I appreciate that. It's like scavenger hunting for sounds!

Great use of ambience and sound effects (as others have said) it really helps with the immersion and setting the story in a setting. I also like your take on the theme. Great work!

I really appreciate that! thank you for the kind words.

I really like ur use of sound effects! I thought the first track had some random lofi old tape sound but it was fire from which the elders would be telling the story around. Great job!

Developer

Mr. Ne! thank you I appreciate that!

My favorite was the second track with those nature sounds. You actually went out there to record this? Very impressive!

Developer

ACpants, thank you! I did go out and record all the SFX myself.  Waited for a rainstorm for the rain, a quiet night with wind, and a late night of recording birds from around town. Currently working on building a website that will allow anyone to use my library of self-recorded royalty free SFX for their own personal use.

That's awesome!

I liked the use of ambient sounds (campire, birds, water, etc.) throughout! Small note: in the beginning of both tracks, the kick was a touch too loud/abrupt, but then when the track filled out with the guitar or the pad, everything felt really well balanced! Overall, great job!

bdubose! thank you! I also appreciate the feedback.  Any and all is welcome. Positive or negative or even neutral. It's a great way to grow and learn from others. so, thank you again!
