A jam submission

The Silence of StarsView project page

It was supposed to be a simple salvage mission. But then again, nothing is "simple" in the Zone.

I enjoyed this one a lot! It felt very well-scoped to me, neither stretched or cramped to meet the length requirement. I wouldn't mind seeing some of the writing "punched up" a little (my preference is for more descriptive detail and sections of the story hewed a little close to "this happened. then, this happened") but your use of fragments at the beginning did a good job of setting the tone and the tight character focus made this a highlight of the jam for me.

This was really cool, very imaginative. Enjoyed it, good twist at the end.

The formatting was really rough, just a giant block of unbroken text, but the writing talent makes me think it's a conversion error and not on purpose. I absolutely love stories that dig into the Zone and the abstract cult-god forces inside!

Very clear story telling. I thoroughly enjoyed it

Wow. Really clear story telling and captivating throughout. Pancake! Great stuff, I'd love to read more!

I didn't really understand what the star-thing was at the end, but I feel like it doesn't matter that much. What matters more is the flow of the story, which is very good in this case, and originality. Maybe make a sequel of this next time?

Genuinely loved this.
Not a wasted word, and the narrative was clean, efficient, evocative, and well worded.
I have no critique save that it was great and I definitely look forwards to your next Wordjam submission!

Hello! I hope you enjoy. I had a bit of tech trouble submitting and the story wasn't able download at first. Hopefully I got it resolved and people can see it now.

there isn't a download for the story 😬 Hopefully you can add it now since you at least had a submission

Thank you so much for letting me know! I managed to add it in. Not sure if that will do me any good as a submission but I'm glad to share it anyways.

I think this is submitted as a game, not a book. Would love to read it.
