Not bad, I think the animation when you respawn takes a bit too much time. Good job though !

Thank you!

Randomization it's wonderful but sometimes lead to a dead end.
Nice effects, I haven't seen a GameMaker game since... I cannot remember since when It was cool to find it was made on GM!
A simple but addictive game... wanna keep playing :D
Nice work.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

It would have been nice to have a scoreboard of the last runs, volume control and an exit button.
Other than that I enjoyed the experience.

Thanks for playing, I'm happy you enjoyed it. I appreciate the feedback and I will add what you said in the next Jam.

My favorite game at the time of playing it. Hard to understand the jump mechanics and the dirt on hitting the ground sent the message that the ground was breaking apart. Other than that confusion it was fun. I do think the randomly generation of the level doesn't allow me to get good at a level so maybe not have it randomly generate except after completing a level if thats possible.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m so happy to hear that. Yeah I think at first I was going to have breakable platforms, but I didn’t have enough time. So maybe I had too many rocks when landing haha. And that’s a good point about the level generation. I should have done a better job at the progression of difficulty. The idea behind the jumping/hopping was that if you press jump within 5 frames of landing, you get a higher jump. Thanks for playing!

It took me a bit to figure out how to jump higher by jumping twice to get more height. Maybe note that in the instructions?

Developer(+1)

Good advice, I'll put that in the notes. But FYI you don't have to jump twice. It just checks if you jumped soon after landing (like a bunny hopping) and you get extra vertical speed if so.

That makes sense. Thank you.

I like the random level generating and the sprites are nice too! Found it pretty challenging to be honest though.

Thanks for playing! And thanks for the feedback : )

I like how the level layout changes on each play. That's neat. Also nice feedbacks (particles etc) on the jumps.

Developer

Thank you!

Does this submission use 6 art assets from OpenGameArt.org?  I only see 5 listed.

The rules of OpenGameArt.org's Summer Game Jam 2022 require submissions to use at least 6 different art works from OpenGameArt.org.

If this game does indeed use at least 6 different art works from OpenGameArt.org, can you add the appropriate credits?

If the game does not use at least 6 different art works from OpenGameArt.org, I will have to disqualify it from the jam.

Developer (3 edits)

Hey, I did use 6+. I will add them to the credits. Thanks for the message. I will check out your game too, it looks cool : )

Host

thanks for doing this!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish my game in time for the jam!   But there are still a lot of other great entries for you to check out.

Developer

Will do : ) It was a fun Jam, thx for hosting.

Would you mind if I edited my submission to add 1 fix to a fatal error. I just played and realized that when a certain enemy spawns there's a fatal error. It's because I left out one variable definition.

Host

No problem, I am going to dis-qualify your game temporarily in order to allow you to post a new build that fixes the error.

Let me know when the new version is posted and I will re-qualify the game.

Developer

Ok I fixed the line. It should be fine. Do I click remove submission and then add it again?

Host(+1)

nope, I'll re-qualify it from the jam admin page.

Host

There you go, the game is re-qualified and visible in the jam again.

Glad you were able to find and fix the bug so quickly.

Developer

Ok thanks, I also deleted the old and uploaded the fixed. Thanks for your time!
