Totally got the high octane spirit of pinball (I love pinball). I love the mechanics and game play. However, I have to agree that without being able to better control the ship there isn't much fun after a few rounds. Dialogue is great. Awesome job :)

LOL what a funny game. I love the character and dialog you made. Saving the planets and collection debris felt like a noble cause! It was fun moving around and quite satisfying when you hit an asteroid. I did get quite frustrated in level 3, that angular momentum from the lanet killed me and took me a very long time to get out of a loop where I was banging on everything. I would have liked to hear some music, or some variation on the sound effect that was made when you ran into something, it got a little irritating after a while. But this was a really fun and whacky game, wish I was able to get the end, it was a little too difficult for me. Thanks for making this for the jam!

I thought the ship was quite fun to control, it did feel quite out of control though.

The main thing I felt was missing was any kind of penalty for failing to control the ship. The game didn't present any challenge (since you could bounce around for ever). But at the moment if you penalised the player for not controlling well it would feel unfair.

Possibly if you gave the player more control but offset that with a damage penalty for hitting the wrong stuff?

The boost Probably needs to ramp over time, instead of being instantaneous, I think it might be better if the ship controlled more like a lander ship (without the gravity) so the ship keeps more of its inertia and the thrust was weaker and the player could do it more gradually?

The mechanic if really enjoyable to play! The sound when hitting an asteroid is quite annoying after more then 2 minutes tho

This game give me respect for the hard working pinball.  I found aiming almost a fools errand, especially if I hit an asteroid at an odd angle.  The narrative was fun and light-hearted, but the spinning out of control when you bounced off something lost it's humor about halfway through.  I found myself getting tense towards the end whenever I got close, but couldn't hit my target.  It's a fun game, but the movement needs to be slowed down or the bumps need to be less chaotic.

I like the story and the concept! Almost like a controllable pinball. My biggest issue is though that it was WAAAYYY to fast and un-controllable. Couldn't get past day 2 and almost beat it by just not playing and letting the ship bounce around on its own. My suggestion would be:

  • Get rid of the friction when turning the ship. you want this mechanic to be more controllable.
  • Make the "thruster" (space bar) a bit slower. I don't mind that it jets (instead of slowly building up speed) but it is way to fast.
  • Make the ship bounce off of the asteroids slower. The bumper is okay to be a bit faster as it is understood by the player that it will send you flying, but the planets also send you flying, and the asteroids don't really do much to dampen the speed of the ship
  • Make the ship only "spin out of control" when hitting the bumper maybe. It seems that I can't even get my ship to move any direction I intend because when the velocity is high no matter what it hits the ship spins out of control.

Hopefully this help! I like the little "boing" sound it makes when the player hits things too. The narrative is cute. The gameplay is just to out of control and gets very frustrating very quickly.

Thank you for trying the game and commenting!

The ship is indeed so hard to control, a part of it is voluntary but it's true that it could use some fine tuning ahah

I'm glad you liked the narrative :) I'll try to find time to make an update that makes the game easier so that people can see the rest of the story without having to tryhard xD
