Surprisingly interesting!

Fun game. I really like the rainbow and subtle lighting effects :)

thank you, the lighting effects are supposed to be cracks on user's screen. I could not manage to make them look good enough hence the confusion :D

That is one terrifying way to end the game. I panicked for a sec. Have to say it was quite a unique game and I enjoyed it. I did notice that meteors speed was tied to player's speed. It made it easy to dodge but felt artificial in a way.

Developer

they are not tied, when you stop you can better visualise the direction the meteorites. When moving you are moving relative to the meteorites on a circular path making it harder to understand their direction. They are going in a straight path.

Is that so? Guess that makes sense now. My bad! We can be certain I'm not fit for piloting on curves 😆

Well done, the radial mechanics were pretty fun to try and navigate.

The visual effect of the spiral diminished after around 40% when it appears that you are just running along a surface with the occasional meteor headed at you. Some way to keep the spiral in the view would have been a nice touch.

Developer

Thanks, I was experimenting with a camera so the user can zoom out and see the spiral (looks very cool when you zoom out a lot) but  I abandoned the idea due to time constraints.

I think this is a fantastic idea with a lot of potential to be turned into something really original. The idea of playing with our notions of up and down / left / right and scale as you move "left" and "right" along a spiral that unwinds can has many possibilities for dynamic puzzles, movement and lateral thinking.

The current implementation is a little sparse on action (I most of the time I just moved "right" and didnt need to do anything else - but this was a one week project built around an original idea/mechanics so it couldn't really borrow ideas from existing games to get a quick start. The polish will come with further development - especially if a final product could match the style of the header image - it would be a very beautiful game.

The gameplay feels a bit too lengthy and repetitive. While the core idea is interesting, the overall experience needs something more, can't quite point my finger at what, nonetheless keep up the good work!
