NICE!!! :DDD I got to level 10 and i think that i have explored most of the map! I had lot of fun, there were a lot of different monsters and the combat didn't feel repetetive :-D I had a little bit of trouble with timing at the beginning but after a quick grind i could beat perfectly almost every enemy :-]] I didn't feel that the game was too hard or too easy. I only would love to see more detailed map preview so i actually know where im going and maybe some npc's and end visible on map end goal. But i realize that it would be very difficult to add in a week.... Other that that, very cool game, i had a lot of fun :-]] Good job!! :DD
Hey I'm so glad to hear you grinded through it, ha ha. I am pretty excited to expand on this project in the 2025 Dungeon Crawler jam. I also have a revision I'll publish once voting is over - that includes a difficulty selector and the arrows will finally be tied to the music beat.
Thanks!
This is really well executed and I would have enjoyed exploring it immensely if not for the frustration brought by not hitting the notes at the pixel perfect time. The whole presentation is great. The music, the intro sequences, the gameplay and even the combat sections, its just the timing. I did manage to get to the fat guy boss looking type but died on him.
Music and graphics are authentic, gameplay is very fun. I enjoyed that XP actually makes a difference. Great entry overall. I'd love to return to it with some more loose timing!
Thank you! I'm very happy with how this turned out except for the difficulty. I have a revision ready to publish as soon as voting is over.
Ambitious game given the limitations of the jam. Graphics are great and the adventuring is fun. Unfortunately the combat felt a little unresponsive for me or I just suck at it :D
Thanks for checking it out! I'm glad you like what you saw. I have a revision ready as soon as the jam is over. It includes a difficulty selector - including godmode - so everyone can make it to the end.
Well it is a grind to learn the mechanics! I don't think it really needs toning down, it's just the feedback for me. You'd think just hitting it in inside the bounds is enough but the timing actually needs to be more precise.
Nice and intuitive mechanics, everything mixes so well together, good art, good track, however plenty already said it but being a bit more lenient on the timing would definitely contribute to the game, still a really nice experience !
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent art and a lot of immersion packed into such a small package! Great presentation overall.
Thankyou so much!
Totally up my alley gameplay wise, robust implementation and the characters, UI and animations are all excellent. The timing on the rhythm game is pretty tight, which is OK imo, but there's not a lot to help the player stay on time. Unless I'm totally off, the notes don't seem synced to the bgm's tempo, so all the player can rely on is visual cues. Keeping the notes at a consistent tempo and only going down to half and quarter notes, or adding a visual metronome, would have made the gameplay less frustrating without making the margin for error wider.
It was daring to try this within the nokia limitations and very cool to see your implementation! Great job overall!
Agreed. The battle system needs work to keep the arrows on tempo. Thanks for the encouragement!
OMG this is super unique, the music is great and catchy, and the combat is a really cool concept, a little hard but still really cool ideas :)
Thankyou!
This is great. You made something really unique (I'm a sucker for DRPGs). It's a really nice execution! IMO the rhythm gameplay is a tad unforgiving, but this is a really cool idea worth expanding in the future.
Hey really glad to hear it! You should definitely check out the Dungeon Crawler Jam 2025 coming up soon. I think I'm gonna expand on this there.
What a fantastic game!
I like the unique idea and the fun gameplay.
The fighting is quite unforgiving, tho like you have to hit the key exactly on the right time.
I'll be trying to finish the whole game soon, I saw a big fella over the left of the map. I wanna fight them.
Thankyou! Yes there are a couple big fellas to fight.
Very fun game, good graphics and simple and addictive mechanics. I will definitely come back here to play a little more calmly later.
Wonderful! I had fun playing it a lot - maybe too much because I kinda lost track of how hard it became.
I really like the idea, mixing rpg and rythm game is a concept that i really like!
Also I really enjoy the art and the desing n of the map (nice fov effect!) and of the combat.
The combat needs you to be pixel perfect while pressing the button. I wish there was more margin for error. I Can"t do more than 2 fight then i die :(
Or maybe i need to git gud :D
Nice job!
The battle system is programmed to have a 3 pixel window. I think it slightly favors pressing early rather than late. I wish I could go back and reduce the difficulty so people could see more of the game.
Thanks!
Really cool atmosphere! But its very hard to hit the buttons on time.
Yes, I think I should have included a difficulty slider. As I playtested, I was getting more and more comfortable with the timings, to the point it felt pretty easy - but that's of course not fair to new players.
The graphics and animations are simply amazing. You’ve created a great atmosphere with just a few pixels, and the lighting is fantastic. The game is really fun.
Thanks man!
This game has some promising features, but the level of precision required to hit the falling actions in combat is quite brutal. Nice intro and transitions, and the map looks decent, but I can't get too far with it.
Great point, with all my playtesting, I think I got pretty good at the timings and didn't account for new players.
