Cool idea, albeit a bit too long in my opinion. Had fun nonetheless, good job!

That's a really cool game, but it gets repetitive and a bit boring really fast, the narration bit and the concept are top notch, You should have tried to make a platformer out of that, I would have loved to be able to grab to letters, run all over the place and do wall jumps,the other negative point is that the camera moves by itself, you see the camera move, you mess up and fall and if you're near the end you have to redo everything,but dang did the setting surprise me.

I really want to play this, but I can't get the mac version to start. It just says it can't open, no error message. Hmmm. macOS Catalina 10.15.7.

I tried making a web version, but no dice...

This is an issue with unity mac builds, I believe you can fix it by running the following commands:

chmod +x "/Applications/Between the Lines MAC v1.0.app/Contents/MacOS/Between the Lines”

and if it still doesn't work;

sudo chmod +x "/Applications/Between the Lines MAC v1.0.app/Contents/MacOS/Between the Lines”

This was a really cool mechanic, and I love the visuals, ambience and gameplay, but one thing really hurt the game for me: I think it overstayed its welcome, a bit. A few levels in, I was like "Yeah that was a really cool mechanic!" and then it kept going. And going. And going. The projectiles were a nice change of pace, but also added more frustration of starting over again and again. After dying about a twenty times to 'the storm', I got frustrated and quit. I think this is a cool mechanic, but it got a little too difficult and my enjoyment really suffered because of that.

Props for good voice acting!

Hey, I’m sorry you didn’t like the design! The early part of the game is there to get you confident with the core mechanics. Each level had something different that I wanted to show, even if you maybe didn’t notice it. And there are some tricks that I probably should’ve taught to help with the projectile part. Were you using the letters to block projectiles? I’d hoped the player would learn this from previous levels, but perhaps not. Whilst the difficulty might not appeal to everyone, I hope you had some moments of fun!

To be clear, I liked the design in general, and I did notice the elements you were progressively working up. I was indeed using the letters,  I just hit a big stumbling point in one spot. I think a simple fix would have been to not start the player from all the way back at the beginning of the level when they fail, but maybe just rewind a little bit back. I'm pretty sure that alone would have resolved the problem for me.

I really did like it in general.
