Cute retro game.

Beautiful pixel art, but pay attention to contrast: the enemy's color (only the mouse) are too much similar with scenario, which makes it a bit complicated to see sometimes. Change the mouse's color to purple (from palette) with a white outline should work.

The gameplay really catch that older games feeling, maybe a little too much: The wall sticking movement need some polish. Maybe make it automatic when pressing the move key in the direction of the wall would be a better configuration. (Canceling pressing 'down' or 's' )

Overall it was a good platform. Congrats!

yeah the mouse I changed the colour of it a few times and none of them worked to well I never tried out purple though which now that I think about it not sure why I didn't.

So for the wall jumping holding the direction towards the wall and letting go makes you fall wasn't good eh I was aiming for a mega man x style wall jumping system. Thanks for the feedback :)

Cool platformer. Reminds me of the first Mario, but at the same time everything is very original. The one who constantly threw something from behind the trees pretty pissed me off 😹😹

Developer

thanks for playing the game. They were suppose to be annoying but not that much lol.

Well done.
Though the controls with attaching to walls automatically feel a tad off. Probably would have preferred a special key. And maybe only attach when y velocity <= 0 so you dont attach directly when jumping upwards.

Developer(+1)

you only stick to the wall if you are pressing towards it at least that is how it should be working I just tested it my self and seems to be working for me anyways not sure if that is a bug you found or you just were holding the direction towards the wall well near it when jumping. But either way I get what are saying about moving upwards feels a bit of. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for giving my game a play.

Great game design, and interesting levels that looked very distinct from one another. There was a feeling of, I don't know, nostalgia? Even if I never played this game before, it reminds me of games like Psycho Fox (old sega genesis game), like James Pond (another sega genesis game), I cannot grasp the exact description but it has a "thing".

I accidentally found a bug during the first boss fight! Since I recorded the whole thing, you'll be able to see. I restarted the game real quick, though, and speedran through the level to get to the boss.

Overall very nice experience, surprising how many elements are there (bosses, levels, different enemies, etc). Great job!

Oh, and before I forget, here's my full playthrough of the game (the UI is cut in the video but it was fine in the game, I'm just bad with video editing):

thanks for playing my game. was interesting to see some one else playing the game as well so thanks for the video. I see you missed a few of the secrete paths good to know they aren't to easy to figure out.

the bug you saw I never saw in my testing so I will have to try and figure out a way to fix that stupid bugs lol.

glad you enjoyed your self thanks for playing :)

Very polished and complete experience considering the 3 day time window! Amazing that you even included a tutorial, checkpoints, and large well-designed levels/bosses. I could not beat the second boss though... I dashed into the fishes to throw them back at the cats but couldn't hit anything. Not sure what I'm missing.

Developer(+1)

ah yeah that boss you just need to dash into the can that he pops up in before he throws the dead fish at you. I might have to figure out how to make that more intuitive. Thanks for playing my game though glad you enjoyed it.

Are there more levels after beating the second boss?

Developer

There is a start to the 3rd level but that was as far as I was able to get, coding the enemies  took me a lot longer then I thought it would sadly.
