I have to say this was a rather interesting game. At the start, I wasn't quite sure what to make of it cause it felt like falling down a rabbit hole with a disembodied voice (which was the star of the show, I must say).
Great atmosphere, fantastic visuals and a narrator full of character. A little rail-roady, but it instills curiosity that drives you forward. Definitely could have done more with the limitation, I feel. However, I still think it's a great game, conceptually.
Thanks for the positive feedback :)
Oh yeah definitely could've needed a bit more things to do with the main narrative branch - wanted to add way more minigames - but time gets the best of us :D
I can definitely understand the time aspect, that's for sure. XD
I hate when games make me waste precious minutes holding a button. Like the computer thing couldn't have been 10 times faster and have the same effect??
That being said, the art direction and narration were fantastic, loved the music as well.
Thanks for the feedback!
I was thinking about that as well in the beggining, but if it would be faster - there would be less time for narrative ( its timed specifically for that ) and the buildup of it being really tedious wouldn't work as well.
The Task Part designed to be time-wasting/boring - there's even a hidden ending if you go trough more tasks :)
I gotcha. I did enjoy how comically long it took the first time I played, but then I accidentally tabbed back in the browser.. and had to do it again XD
Thats exactly why I bound skip all computer tasks to spacebar for playtesting - I must've completed 500+ Tasks by now xD
( To be fair - it was 3x-5x Faster earlier, but the problem was that it would skip the voice lines - those are 45 Seconds each mostly )
I loved this game! It really reminds of The Stanley Parable and it was so engaging that I replayed to get both endings (but maybe there's more...). +1 Virtual High Five!
Thank you for Playing!
Actually - there are four Endings - one in plain sight at the Start.
For the other one - try doing nothing at all :D
This was quite the interesting experience! Great job on making this in only 3 days!
Thanks mate - made it in 1 1/2 / 2*ish - got super sick on Saturday :D
Really cool combination of The Stanley Parable(/Portal)'s unreliable, gentlemenly narrator with some spooky, CCTV-style visuals!
Thank you :)
This was fantastic. I think we have a new candidate on the table who will teach The Stanley Parable some additional traits :D Since now, your game is my absolute favourite in this jam. I was in love with everything. Had a lot to laugh. And the first time I "failed" because I justed wanted to listen to the music. Is a 10 hour version of the main theme out there?
And it was super interesting how you made use of the limitation. To reflect it into the really life brought a highly immersive element into the game.
Just one little note: When I wait for a long time, the 60 seconds counter starts. When I THEN do sth. that counter will not disappear. Is that intended?
Thanks a lot for the positive Feedback!
Yeah the Counter is intended because if I reset the timer after doing nothing if the player does something again, I would have no Voice Over left for when the Player does nothing after that again = replaying the same lines over again
So I hoped to outmaneuver that by just ending the Game :D
Am I Stanley all over again?
My time was well spent playing this.
Haha lmao - thanks for seeing it that way :D
cool game.
Thank you!
Really cool, only criticism I can come up with:
Character controller feels a bit stiff and jank
And starting the game is disorientating, maybe pointing the player so he looks at the desk instead of the wall would help?
Really liked the narration and the "story"
Oh for sure - the start annoyed me as well, but I got super sick and had to cut nice to haves
( Wanted to have more choices on the main branch and the high five be more visually appealing :D )
That narrator has a bright future in other projects, I can tell.
I found a use for the reward: return to sender. :)
Best use of the Reward there is!
Thanks for playing :)
My finger hurts
Imagine I made you click instead of holding it :P
Thanks for playing!
I'm too stupid for your game. That's almost certainly my fault. Check out my live review at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission
Lol - but you made it to one of the ends - all good :D
thanks for playing!
