At first glance this looked simple but there's definitely a lot to the gameplay. The fact that different enemies do different things (move multiple squares per turn, fire projectiles etc) adds a lot to the design. Pretty solid work!
Really good idea for a concept, how you control the enemies in a way. The game is really well polished and it's overall just really fun. Good job!
Great roguelike game, with an almost puzzle-like quality to it with anticipating and planning around enemy movements and environmental hazards.
The pixel art was charming, with some lovely enemy design and a really good tileset.
Very well made roguelike with a lot of polish, it feels to me like a necrodancer without the dance haha, since you still have to understand their movement in order to act accordingly. Presentation is top-notch, and the game is very fun.
The voice acting was an interesting idea, and the overall experience was pretty good. Good job!
Cool roguelike game!
love the old school feel with the graphics. Fun game! loved the voice clips!
Classic Roguelike! i like the graphics and the mini puzzles, good job!
Interesting turn based dungeon crawler! The vocal instructions were a nice, creepy touch that added a lot to the theme of the game. Memorizing the cadence of your enemies attacks is almost rhythmic, and dodging when predicting their move is rewarding. Excellent art as well! To make it more obvious that you can predict enemy attacks, maybe you could add a visual indicator on basic enemies (like the slimes) and when the player progresses to a new enemy (like the bat) the indicator is no longer there. That way, there's an implicit tutorial on how to defend against enemies. Overall well done!
The graphics and sounds are very well made and implemented, and the voice cues for the tutorial are well done as well. I like the idea of that you press a key and move one space in the direction, and how the monsters also take this method of movement. I also like how the maps are built and the dungeon-like vibes you feel while playing. The pixel animations are amazing, and I definitely loved the filter option, really amazing extra you don't get to see nor experience every day.
I like the feeling of trying to predict the future movements or actions of both the map objects and AI to try and survive the rooms, I do also like how there's a feeling of exploring all possible moves you or the opponents can make, it's almost like a good chess match.
Overall, the presentation of this game was by far amazing, the gameplay was simple and straightforward, and there is a nice strategic thrill in the movement to complete objectives, as well as survive. I wish you the best in any future projects or jams.
A very beautiful game. Graphics and sound are very good. Well done guys !
Voice acting is very well made! Graphics nice and I like the transition effect between levels. However, at first it’s hard to understand that this is a turn-based game, mainly because of enemies (there is no visual warning of their movement/attack in next turn).
Love it! Neat little adventure game with nice limitations. The sound effects are very good. :D
Nice game! The graphics and mechanics are pretty cool! :D
This is such a fun game! Reminds me of Enchanted Cave 2. The voice acting was funny and I also like how the character sounds like he is step dancing when I mash the movement keys.
I loved this!! I actually added it to my private game collection I enjoyed it so much haha. Did find one bug however, when trying to retry the game after dying, it softlocks and shows a gray screen. With such a replayable game, I'd love to see this fixed!!!!
Great to hear you liked it! There will be a (hopefully) bug-free post-jam version in the near future.
Great game! Great grahpics!
