If there was more sound fx the game will be more energetic and have some juice to it great game chapel and I give it 3.8/5

This was well done for what was there! It would have been nice to have a little sound, lots of area to roam around though, and not difficult. Just really feels like the basic bare bones of a game with a bigger concept in mind? great job for what it is though 3.75/5

Beautiful minimalist art style! Which program did you use? I love the black and whit, and the koala idea was a very nice touch. Other than that I tend to agree with the others, some music and SFX would add some juice to those beautiful attack animations! Nothing wrong with grabbing some royalty free assets to fill in the gaps when you're short-handed. Our SFX guy ghosted, so we grabbed some stuff from zapslat.com Keep up the awesome work and I'll look forward to your next project!

PS: it was nice to see a top-down game, I usually think platformer Metroidvania, but this style is really good for exploring!

ty! And ye I just super procrastinate and couldn't do the audio! Def will grab some free assets or hit a friend that does audio! And I used unreal engine (def not ideal for 2d XD but it's wat I know)

I like Unreal Engine a lot, but it runs so slow on my computer I can make half a game on Godot before UE would even load :'D  What did you use to make the visuals?

The game is visually beautiful both the environment and the animations, and the character felt good to control, but after finding the grapple and the bomb there wasn't much to do. Also why use the grapple when you can dash everywhere. (btw i assumed the hole in the middle of the bomb room was a wall i couln't pass so spent some time exploring the whole map again until i accidentally fell).

The artstyle and animations are pretty good, but oh boy that sure feels incomplete.

I only played so far as to getting the bomb, I couldn't find anywhere else to go after that, and I tried blowing up all the walls I tought that looked at least slightly destructible to no avail, so I assume the game just ended there.

The game itself is pretty basic so far, so not much to comment on it tbh, altought movement feels pretty good, specially the grapple hook, I like it. Combat is really rought tho, all you do is spam click and things die, and even then there's no real feedback for anything, so it's hard to tell wheter you or the enemies are even taking damage at all. It's also kinda weird that when you die you lose your upgrades, even tho that's not a real issue here since the game is super short and getting them back is very quick, but still.

Some more minor nitpicks too is that the hole on that one room doesn't look like a hole, so I walked into it by accident thinking it was just a wall (And I also only realized I was supposed to hook to the other side thanks to that, otherwise I would've tought that spot was inaccessible and never find the way to go, wich wouldn't be good), and on a more technical sidenote, I also got softlocked when I grappled into a room transition, and not even the pause button worked there, I had to alt f4

I also really missed some sounds and music, but since you were solo the lack of them is understandable

Also, completely unrelated, but I think this is the first time I see someone using Unreal for 2D lol (it might not be tho, I can't remember every single jam game I've played x3 )

I really like the animations, but the game desperately needs sounds, music and a health bar. And in a perfect world there would also be gamepad support :P

Also, I softlocked myself so I cannot attack any more. Don't know how that happened, but I had to restart. And then I got stuck in a transition, because 2 slimes were at the edge of the transition.

Without a map it is hard to keep track where you are, because all the rooms look so similar (no offense, it is a jam game).

I am looking forward to post-jam updates of that game. The art style looks very promising.

oh def fsure gonna update this in the future! The original scope had descending levels that you can go back and forth, with the objective is to explore till u find the passage down wards (a hole).  I'll look into ways that might have softlocked you! And I'll touch up on the nav mesh for the AI so getting stuck won't be as bad! (And mae UI for it fsure XD)
