This was a fun little puzzle platformer! I agree with some other comments here that it isn't really a metroidvania, but it was still fun. I enjoyed sucking up the blocks and spitting them out. I think it would be helpful if there was some visual indicator of the range of how far away I can suck in blocks from. I know the cursor changes shape, but it's really small. Maybe a little circle around the character? It would make the final challenge at the end more achievable.  I liked the high contrast art style. Good use of limited color as emphasis. I wish the restart text and the cursor were larger so they could be seen more easily.

This is a pretty neat puzzle platformer. It's not really a Metroidvania in any significant structural sense but I gave it a couple points there for being a game where you use abilities you have to traverse the level anyway. It is nifty!

Pretty great little puzzle platformer. That was fun to play through. I got stuck for a little bit because I thought the first swing was a pipe. You may want to tweak that design or make them move back and forth a bit when stationary. Or introduce them in a different way.

I enjoyed the dark humor. All those dead frogs!!! Jumping over them at the end was macabre and funny but also a little frustrating. Did not enjoy how easy it was to die there, and then having to backtrack through the two previous challenges.

Impressive start here. Excellent work.

Good looking short puzzle game. I liked the mechanics of throwing boxes. I'm unsure if it has relation to the genre but otherwise it's a good work!

What I liked

  • I'm always a fan of the black and white art. It makes the game look more cohesive
  • I love the puzzles and the "Kirby" mechanic of moving blocks around.
  • I'm always a fun of the psychopathic computer trope.
  • While I feel like music was missing, it didn't take very long to stop noticing it.
  • You also provided enough player feedback. There weren't any moments where I was unclear as to what was happening in regards to my actions.

I try to leave some suggestions/things to consider moving forward, but I feel like that isn't really necessary. While I see this more as a puzzle platformer in its current state, this could be a really good start your next MVM. Your box moving mechanic could be a powerup to progress through the game. So overall, its a pretty cool entry and a great headstart for your next entry. Congrats!

Thank you for useful information :)

I thought the game played great and had a cool aesthetic. I felt like it could have benefitted from a soundtrack but the SFX were plentiful enough from it becoming too awkward. I like the unwilling test subject trope, and the writing reminded me of portal in a good way. As has been mentioned, it's not very metroidvania-ish but that doesn't stop it from being a great game.

Nice work!

Thanks for reply! <3

The soundtrack is planned in the future, but I don't even know what it should be like yet

Works very well as a demo, though the game should explain the controls. I was confused when I was able to move with arrow keys but there was no jump in the up arrow. It also took a while to figure out how to eat things and that you can adjust your jump height by pressing down the jump button.

Simple yet great graphics. Sometimes funny (the PC guy), sometimes gory (your kin having been massacred on spikes). I got stuck in the part where you have to cross the spikes with the bodies, I just couldn't move them around that much and wasn't sure what the spike hitboxes were. Not sure if that was supposed to be your end as well lol.

I couldn't see any metroidvania elements so far, there were just linear puzzle solving sections.

Great thanks for your feedback! I'll remove the arrow controls and add a small hint how to eat objects. Also I'll make spike hitboxes a bit smaller.

About metroidvania, I didn't have enough time to make a system for moving between levels like in metroidvania. I think in the future I will add something that will add new abilities to the player during the game, like in metroidvania, but i don't know about levels
