love the concept and how it start to grow when you advance, nice movement, sometimes a little slow for my taste, but great entry.

This feels really good to play, and I was digging the art style and music. Just need a hit effect when you're smacking those enemies around. The little circle eye things are vicious!

Very charming. The abilities were straightforward and intuitive, the enemy types were varied, and the graphics while minimal were still pleasant to look at. The sound effect on getting hit was a good piece of feedback and the damage seemed reasonable. I also liked that the health upgrades gave you another entire bar of health, felt very Metroid energy tank-ish.

I had two issues which I see others have mentioned as well, 1) the movement speed was too slow for my tastes and 2) after I died I respawned at the beginning despite having reached what appeared to be checkpoints.

Overall good job, I was enjoying the game up until I died (I was technically still enjoying the game, I just didn't want to replay the content again). :D

Ok, turns out that if you choose the retry option on  a new game, the save won't load, but it's still saved, and resetting, then choosing Continue will work.

This one has lots of content! I liked it.

But the slow movement made me stop after aquiring the dash, kinda frustrating having to walk around a big map so slowly.

But keep working on it, it's very cool and nice to play!

Really cool! I saw that there were autosaves, but when I died and respawned, it just restart. Overall, great game, good job!

This game's graphics is minimalist at best, and that's it's unique charm. The powerups have it's fun moments of use, especially the dash. And the extra health slot pickups were small bundles of happiness. :)

Now for the issues. The magnetism, the magnetism.....

That feature is useful, but seriously, the ability made me dread staircases and there's a lot of staircases in the game, that dropped my enjoyment a notch, maybe you should use different tiles or platforms for the wall and the floor next time. They can be the same design, so no one would notice, but should be different in functionality.

Secondly, the map. I never got to the final boss, because you made the purple side of the map so hard to access. I examined the map over and over, explored every ounce of the areas I'd been through yet, nothing. Apparently, the only doorway to the purple side was blocked with spikes, which made it inaccessible even by double jumping with a dash. That also dropped my enjoyment a notch, backtracking without a reward,  that's brutal...

Lastly, the player movement, make the player faster when moving next time, it will do speedrunners or quick grinders like me a lot of good. ESPECIALLY ON THE MAGNETISM state movement.

Those two things... those two things.... combined with the two other points i listed needs to be fixed.

Nevertheless I still enjoyed the game, great use of color contrast to uniquely separate each area, the boss fights were short, precise and fun.  Great game, with a lot of potential. Fix those flaws and I'll definitely be back for more. :)

Cheers! ^^

The purple area is accessed through a teleporter in the small orange area. It requires another ability in addition to double jump and dash to access.

I'm aware of the fact that it's a bit too easy to stick, and that the motion is a bit slow, but I'd already designed enough of the map that I felt like it might be too much work for within the time period to alter the player's core mechanics.

really enjoyed playing this - must have spend about 45 mins with it the controls are great! reallllllllly well done! the magnetism is a little clunky but everything is is really fun and the map is interesting too. onlt other small issue was that the controls were not for me, so it was more difficult than it should have been. Great job and great entry!

I enjoyed this game for the most part. From playing it, it looked like we used similar techniques for creating the map. My only criticism in regards to the map is that it doesn't do the "reveal as you explore." It was also kind of hard to figure out where I was on the map unless the area's obstacles were very specific. It seemed like you tried to alleviate some of that issue by keeping your tile colors consistent with the map, but i still had a bit of trouble keeping track of where I was. Congrats on finishing in time and good luck!
